Knifemaker's Anvil Question.

Are you talking about the Bullhammer 125, John? I did notice that gong sound, but thought it was just me. I wonder how it would sound if that was filled with lead?
 
How did they make anvils in the old day? One would think that with a 1-1/4" Foundry & Kiln Burner and a slightly large forge, it would be a nice project.:cool:
 
the 125. With a filled base--or one of 3" plate or so--that thing would be even better than it already is.
