This may have already been discussed, but thought I'd bring it up anyway since I sometimes change what I carry. I'd like to know what you guys carry as your EDC? There was an article in one of the knife mags awhile back talking about what knives different knifemakers carry and use on a daily basis. It was surprising how many didn't carry their own handmade pieces. For me, most of the time I carry a Buck 110 and a Swiss Army knife or a 110 and a Leatherman. Ok guys let's hear what do you all carry?

This is what I have been carring since I made it.

Brian, I used to carry a Swiss Army knife but stopped doing that awhile back since I wear coveralls most the time. I'd lose them within a week by putting them in the false pocket. The only time I use a knife is for cutting the strings on a bale of hay. I've had as many as 4 knives stashed along the fence where I feed the cows. I'll have to look if there still there.

I usually carry the latest I have made and have several more on me and some in the truck.
I like to show them off. If the latest was an order I won't sell it. If it is avaliable and someone says they like it it's theirs, for a price. I always have a back up. One that is not for sale is a forged fighter in D2 with a cordwrap handle, green rayskin. 4 3/4" blade 8 3/4 " overall. I carry it because it is a great utility blade with a comfortable sure grip.

one of good buddy, Lamont Coombs :D been about 3 years or so now.
I don't have mine long enouph to carry :grumpy:

I have two blade with it, a swept point and a drop point

I usually carry that one. Its a framelock I made awhile ago, all 440C, all hardened (both handle slabs, back spacer etc.). It takes a lot of abuse without showing it, and isn't too bad of a cutter.
I occasionally carry a benchmade 806D2S (AFCK with axis lock and serrated D2 blade) that I traded a large hunter I made for. I carried it at work most of the time last summer since its tip up, the dirt and dust didn't get into it as fast. The serrations are also nice since I was cutting a lot of heavy stuff.
And I always have a Gerber 600 series multi tool on me. Its indispensible when your baling hay and working around equipment all the time.

I've been carrying for 30 years. In VN, I carried a Schrade Stockman, I think it was called. Got it lost over there. I loved that knife, cause it had real carbon steel for a blade. Sharpened to a razor, and did great duty for many things. I've got 4 in my drawer, and hate very one of them. 2 Gerbers with aluminum foil for a blade. (they used to use M2 way back when they really made knifes), and a SOG Pentagon Elite. This one has a real hard blade, maybe ATS34 or similar. Too big to carry unless I'm going through a tough hood...The last one is a real little Swiss army. I carry it when I'm dressed up:) :D

Now, I'm not planning on making any folders, but would like maybe to buy a working folder from someone here to EDC. Something with a 3" blade...

Anybody got one on hand? With a REAL blade? No stainless.........pleeze:) :barf: Send me an e-mail.....

Interesting laws in here Kalifornia.....You can carry any size folder in your pocket. 12" even....But, a fixed blade cannot be concealed, no matter what the size.........I do it anyway........

I carry a William Henry T-12 with NS bolsters and jigged bone scales. Traded a Sebenza for it. It came with a slipcase and the clip case. I have had it for quite some time, maybe 3 years. I can't afford to carry one of my own. Everytime I make one for myself I end up selling it.

Last year or so it has been a spyderco military with full serrated blade. Being in the merchant marine I like the full serrations, cutting alot of synthetic rope during the day. For the money the military has held up well.

My EDC changes often. I find that carrying carrying something I make is an excellent alternative to a business card. Up until this recent one, everything has been sold out of my pocket. This is what I have for now. It's an ongoing experiment.

I carry a Buck Alpha, and a Swiss. I used to carry a Buck 110, and a buch of other stuff, some days I'd have 5 knives. Not any more. The Alpha is my Utility, and the Swiss is my tool.

I carry a Case large trapper with carbon steel blades every day at work, along with a tiny A.G. Russell slipjoint in VG10. When I'm in the woods or fishing, I carry a dropped point hunter in cable damascus with a whitetail crown handle that I made a few years ago. I'm working on a 4" Warncliff blade that I forged from a Nicholsen file to start carrying at work.

I always have a carbon steel slip joint in my pocket, lately it's been a 50 year old Case single blade slim trapper. No stainless steel for me :)
