I carry the friction folder I made, plan on making a better one eventually. I used to carry a knifetech military switchblade, then I removed the spring because I decided I didn't need any trouble from having a switchblade, then I forged a new blade for it after the other one got messed up, then I vowed to carry none until I made one for myself which I finally did. When I tell people I make knives, then the one I pull from my pocket is a factory knife, I just don't like what it impliesw about my making skills whether it's true or not. If I had a bit more discressionary cash I might carry a custom folder by another maker since I'm better at fixed these days, at least it shows my confidence in a custom knife over a production knife.
No offense to those of you who do carry factory knives, I'm not saying that if you carry a factory knife that yours aren't up to the task, but I do think that uninformed people will assume that sometimes.
