I've recently decided to narrow my focus to working strictly with air-hardening steels. I have a mill and lathe on the way and need to clear up some space in the shop. I prefer local pick-up only, and am open to offers.

Forge - homemade from a piece of 8" sch. 80 pipe, interior dimensions are approx 6x16". Lined with 1" koawool and coated with ITC 100, poured refractory floor (removable). Fired by a T-rex burner from hybridburners.com. Complete set up, ready to go!
$300 obo

Can't see why you wouldn't want to ship the anvil?

Good luck with the new focus!!

p.s. This post got me to take a first look your website and your knives on . You have some very nice looking knives there.

David

Glad you like the knives! Realistically, I've been working with many different types of blade steel, my knife expirementation has been all over the map in the last two years - kind of fractured. I'm looking forward to being able to concentrate on the materials and methods that I am getting the best results with.

Ok, good luck with that.

I wasn't trying to offend and hope it wasn't taken that way shooter. I prefer to sell this stuff locally because I don't have the time to give shipping quotes to everyone who asks, my time is much better spent on knife orders rather than trying to sell materials. Also, as I am in Canada, the cost of cross-border shipping for a piece of steel doesn't really make sense. If you are in the US, it would be much easier and cheaper for you to order a piece from Jantz, Sheffield, or Tracy Mickley.

I posted this thread as there are a few Albertans on these forums who might like some of my surplus stock. If they don't sell, I'm sure I will use them up sometime in the next 10-20 years.

Have a good one,

Nathan
