Howdy folks-

I got [really] lucky this year and happen to live within driving distance of the site chosen to host the Knifemakers' Guild show, the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, KY. The hotel itself is historic and beautiful, making for a perfect site. There were dozens of awesome makers at this show, and a comprehensive list can be found here:

Just to get an idea of what it really means to be a Guild member, it's worth reading up on the requirements. The folks in that group truly earn the right to be there!

I hate to preface my post like this, but many of the pics didn't turn out as desired; it was pretty dark in there so I had to slow down my shutter speed a bit and too many pics got blurry. So sad! But many quality pics managed to sneak through. ;) I've got around 165 pics, but I'm only going to pick and choose a few favorites. The full album is here:

And a few favorites...

Gorgeous filework, on titanium liners...

A very neat fighter, with rubber o-rings on the handle surrounding bamboo. This knife is really neat and breaks down easily (into seven pieces, hence the name "Haiku Knives")...

I have to say that I really like the look of that Rambo IV golok. It seems like it is a quite functional design.

Very generous of you to take the time to post the pics. Thank you for sharing.

EPIC pictures!!!:thumbup::thumbup: Thanks!

I thought I saw some massive folders near the RAMBO knives.

Lots of great engraving too.

Thanks all! I highly recommend getting to this show if at all possible, the work is just amazing and these pictures don't do them justice.

Great pics. Thanks for posting. It was a pleasure to meet you at the show. Anytime you are in the neighborhood please give me a call.

Thanks so much, I had a blast! Had a great time meeting you, and your wife is a pleasure too. Plus I got to see that bear-fightin' bowie in person. :D

I made it to this show, too. I think it is much improved and encourage you all to consider making it next year if you enjoy custom knives.

So many beautiful knives... I am still trying to find my jaw from the floor... Truely beautiful knives. There were so many talented knife makers. I wish I could have been there, then I would have died as happy man with petrified grin on my face ^^
