Knifemakers in MA

If you were around for a little longer, next sunday is the NCCA knife show in Marlboro, and quite a lot of people from the forums usually shows up

I think I'll be bumming. I'm pretty sure that I will be working a 70 hour week which will blow away my weekend.

D'oh, well, I'll cross my fingers that you can make it anyways. I might even have a new knife finished in time for it, spent the morning in the shop, need to find what i want to use for handle material now.

If I have to work over the weekend, it'll be taking radiographs on welds. The steel is 5" thick and the x-rays pics take 3 hours each. We have to take 3 pictures on each weld.

I was thinking of going to IG's while the exposure is being taken, but it would leave only one radiographer to mind the store and I just really couldn't leave, as much as I would like to.

But I was thinking of bringing a couple of blade and my filing setup and mess around with those, or a guitar and a practice amp and rock for a while :D

Hey Sam,

If you can get to the Higgins Armory in Worcester, you NEED to go.
What a collection! It's a great resource for bladesmiths and other hack and slashers.

Visit I.G. He's a remarkable person. Went to a hammer-in at his place several years ago. Ah! The food! Bring your own beer. (hehehe) B=BF:eek:

If you have time on your way home, stop at our place in Coventry, CT. We'll put you up.:)

Keep in touch.

Bill and Aline:D

I'll FOR SURE be making a stop at the Higgins, I have always wanted to see the collection there!

Bill PM or email with you phone number!

Hey guys! I am actually pretty new to knifemaking myself and in North Kingstown, RI. I didn't realize there were all these guys around. IG you mind if I give you a call? I'm pretty free and can head out to a get-together. I'd love to hang out with other knifemakers whenever. I know a great guy down in Carolina, RI that I go visit a bunch. If anyone is in the area and wants to check out my meager work stuffs let me know!

It looks like Sam will be here Friday, Saturday and going to the NCCA show with me on Sunday.
This Saturday we will have a Mini-HI. Will be ask for donations for the propane.

I can't make saturday- talked to IG. I think I'll be down at the NY knife show for Sat. I might make it over there Friday though if he's gonna be working on some stuff with Sam or anyone then.

Dear gods, I wish I could make it...

New Bedford is only like 3 hrs from where I live. 3 hrs is not much of a drive to me, but alas, I'll playing the split and stack shuffle in panic mode to finish getting this years heat supply all squared away.

I'm going to working on Sat. Bummer  12 hour day. If things go right I'll have the job done on Sat. so I can make it to Marlboro on Sunday :D

Well guys I just watched the weather, it's only going to be 35 degrees for the high on Saturday. You Bubba's better dress up warm. I'll have a big pot of coffee going. Now who's going to bring the donuts???????
We can make up some Damascus, but forging may be a problem????? My 300# Fisher will suck the heat right out. Maybe we could heat up PW 150# with a weed burner???? Any good ideas for heating up a anvil????
Sam, are you coming down Thursday night or Friday morning?????
