Knifemakers in NY

Are there any knifemakers in NY, perferrably upstate western NY that would tolerate a visit to their shop from a newbie like myself?

Just a point of information:I have had the pleasure of meeting with Kurt Meerdink and after talking knives for awhile,and explaining that I was starting to get into making them,he invited me to feel free to give him a call to make sure he was in the shop and come over and spend the day with him.That was a couple of months ago and I still have not taken him up on his offer(DUH !).I am definitely going to when I have the time.And by the way ,Kurt's work is outstanding and it looks like he really takes his time on all his knives.I will post on this forum after I spend some time with him .

I don't know where Ken Pfieffer is, but I've met and know Kurt Meerdink for a while, I've got a couple of his earlier pieces, He's about 22 miles west of Monticello, NY and about 15 miles north of Port Jervis, NY it's about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour ride North Northwest from NYC
