Finally got the correct tools to etch my logo. 3 different sizes. 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8". What do ya think? All of the blades will be Duracoated so I tried to get these deep.

Looks nice. Couldn't you apply the duracoat and then etch?

Everyone told me it would not conduct, so I did these deep so the logo will still show.

That is VERY distinct. You should try it lighter and see how it turns out with duracoat too.

Nice stamps. I am watching this thread. I am looking for a solution for my powdercoated blades. The problem I had was the powder coating filling up the cracks, so no logo. I use powder coating because it is much more durable than anything else I found. I am looking at possible using airbrush and stencil, the stencils we use for electric etchers.
I did one set of blades using pad printing which is incredibility strong. But the cost and logistics does not make feasible. The machine to do pad printing is around 400.00 The plate cost 100.00 about but last forever.
I am interesting in any solutions

Jim, thats why I'm trying the Duracoat. The specs say: Film thickness can be varied from .25 to 1.5 mils dry. So I'm hoping the logo will still show decently. This is who I'm using. http://www.jimsgunsupply.com/ Ask for Jim and tell him I sent ya.;)

Can a waterjet cut ....say....30 thous deep? I remember you patterning some titanium. Could you just cut the logo?

John, I can control it somewhat. Its very difficult. I could do a logo, just not this small. To many stop and goes.
