Guys, I hate that I need to say this, but browsing through the various threads, I'm seeing more than a few knifemakers who are posting pictures of their work, and yet they do not have paid subscriptions here.

This site is kept open through paid memberships. If you are going to advertise items that you've made, please do the right thing and purchase the correct level of membership. You can purchase a membership by clicking here or by going to Settings (top right) and then clicking Paid Subscriptions. Knifemaker's memberships are only $60 a year, and you get to advertise your wares for sale in the Knifemaker's area of the Exchange.

Do the right thing. If you can afford a table at Blade, purchase a membership if you are going to be displaying the items you have available. Help keep the site open.

I'm seeing quite a few registered user members with knifemaker home page listings and references in their profile.
This is in violation of the posted forum rules. Please either upgrade your memberships or kindly remove these references from your profile.
Failure to do so can result in infraction, account suspension or account termination.

Please do the right thing and support the site if you wish to advertise.

*The only members who may promote or display their personally built knives, products, or services in the discussion threads, signature, home page listing or their user profile are "Manufacturers", "Dealers", and "Knifemaker/Craftsman/Service Provider".*

Please take time to read the posted forum rules:

Just so myself and I'm sure other members here are clear does this mean non paid memberships can't post pictures in the general discussion threads? In the FAQ section of the link you posted it asks "Do I need to pay for a membership"? and this is the reply:

"Well, first off - You don't.

If you don't want to pay for a membership here, you don't have to. Seriously.

That said, the people who pay for membership help keep this site open. As such, they are our priority. At times we may have to disable some features to support our paying customers, or restrict features inherent in the software.

You do not have to pay to join the forums, post in the General Discussion areas, the Manufacturers Forums, or many of the Community sections. Certain areas, such as the For Sale forums or certain other forums are considered premium content, and as such are either restricted viewing, or have posting restricted to paying members."

I'm under the impression we can post pictures of our work in the general section just not in the sale areas. I thought the ability to post in sale areas is removed from non paying members

The thing people don't seem to understand is:

1) This site operates on paid memberships. Paid memberships are what keeps this forum going. By purchasing a membership, you help keep the lights on here.

2) Unless you are a paid knifemaker member. You may not:

A) Have a knifemaker business name as your username.

B) List a knifemaker/craftsman/service provider Homepage in your profile

C) Advertise your business in any manner, in your profile, in your postings or pictures or in any discussions on this site.

D) Take any orders from the membership here.

Please take time to read the posted forum rules:

Bladeforums staff reserves the right to review any user postings and profile information to determine whether the user is in violation of any of these rules and to terminate any accounts in violation of them. We like to be easy going and not have to push people to do the right thing and purchase the proper membership to advertise or show off their products here. Please do the right thing and support the largest Knife discussion forum on the internet.... The leading edge of knife discussion.
