Knifemaking Baker's dozen...

Nick, as far as I know, I wasn't there:confused:

Steven, right behind Batsons left shoulder.

I think somebodys got some splaining to do:p COOP?

I think that it is Mace Vitale, but I could be wrong.

He kind of looks like you Don, but a bit heavier.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Yes, That is my fat head behind the good Doc. Thanks for noticing Fez.

Pat Curan...in the back w/green shirt.

Ed Wilson(Happy Cat)...front row w/sweater and vest.

I wish the ABS still did this hammer-in.
This was the first one I ever went to...made a lot of good freinds that weekend.
I had been forging for just a year and really only knew who a few of the smiths were...now when I look back and think about all the talent there it blows my mind. I remember not being able to sleep that weekend because I couldn't stop thinking about all the things I was learning.
Thanks for the trip back in time Coop.

I got here too late to play the game. I was pretty sure that was you Mace. I recognized Ed, (Happy Cat) Wilson, and Patrick Curan -- though I had forgotten Pat's last name. If I recall correctly he won the cutting competition at the Moran Hammer-in last year.

Thanks for clarifying this Mace. I thought it was you, but it ALSO looks like Don.... well, kinda. :)

Good fun!

OK, how about this one....ya might not have even seen him. Behind my head standing with his back to us in front of the pole...I think thats Aldo Bruno.:D

Terry, Pat did win that contest...also was the first to make every cut in a comp. He also took second this year....he blames it on me of course.....But I did give him a little pinch on his cutting arm right before the competition:eek:
just to try and even the odds.:D

Coop, Ya got any more pics from this hammer in? There were a lot of other great makers there as well.....J. Loose...Dan Farr...Tom Eden...Laura Sue Bethke. This was also the place you and I met.
Dan Farr did his JS cut and bend test and Laura Sue did her Masters cut and bend test right after the cutting competition.

Boy I really learnd a lot at this hammer in. Just sitting and talking with folks.
I remember a great conversation with Cristoph the first night there...I asked him to look at my knives and tell me what he thought...and he did! All I can say is that it was an eye opener.
I also sold my first knife at the show....

Lots of good friendships made that weekend...
Great thread Coop.
