Awesome work! Grind is great for an early grind. You can try to "sneak up" on the tip by not really grinding into it so much once you get close... just grind almost up to it. Same thing goes with sharpening. Tip nub helps, that is also a harder grind tip wise. Cool to see this project!
 
Funny how life gets away from you at times. New belts arrived so I can continue to hone my blade making skills, but I haven't put them to use yet.

In the meantime, I've been tinkering with a Pilar. Decided to try my hand at some hand work and used a Dremel to add some texture to the show side scale.

I thought I'd hit it with the scotch brite belt to normalize the surface finish a bit. That was a mistake. Way too aggressive. It softened all of the edges nicely, but I'd prefer a more refined surface. Lesson learned.
