and of all the back and forth, authority on this or that... CPM154... not 154CM... and one steel site has CPM154CM.. I've read through the muck... I think the CPM154CM is just a useless redundancy... CPM154 is crucibles powder version of 154CM, so CPM154CM is CPM154... but cannot be 154CM... it's all about the powder maaaaan :)

Yup, bored.. huge headache.. kids taking a bath with mommy... I'm DONE! lol sigh...

wth... I'm seeing ads in posts now? I'm still a platinum member.. I checked! anyone else having this?

Yeah it's gotta be the CPM version although I have been seriously impressed by 154CM... they are the same formula but really two different steels.

Ads... yeah, I had to check my membership! ...hopefully that is a short term thing. I support Spark and BF 100% but do hope we don't go to ads across the board.

Geeze, I thought I was trippin for a second, I've got ads too. Well, its only one ad at the top which if it helps Spark keep this site going then I guess we have to deal with it.

Hi duudz. It's warming up.
Steel, schmeel. Give any steel a cool grind and a proper HT and I'm happy.
Hi Daniel!

D2, 3V are favorites. It'd be neat to see stuff in M4 or 110v, hell even get fancy and try to locate Nitinol! Then again it seems whatever steel you use, ends up looking fantastic.

I think you have our support regardless.

Some high hardness CPM 3v or the 110v would be sooo sweet. Id give up some toughness in 3v in a folder for a few higher Rockwell points. 110v would just be neat to actually use. Fairly sure, no pun intended, that you could make a potmetal blade perform

I was thinking about this last night while trying not to pull my head off.....

Folder, I too want harder/higher RC.. I don't hard use a folder.. I don't expect it to hold my weight on one foot. Nor to pry open a door.

My only concern is re-sharpening in the field.. which happens very infrequently, so back to higher RC... just not brittle hard :)

My field knife in 3v is rc 60-61 and i have no problems keeping it like a razor in the field with just a med/fine diafold and a mini double sided strop with black and green compound. Guys i work withare affraid to touch it its so sharp. It also double duties as my hunting knife, splitting pelvises and ribcages like nothing with no edge damage

Ahh, by high RC I was thinking 64 O_O and I find 3V fairly easy to sharpen as well.. lately D2 was giving me a bit of trouble, but I was using too high a grit for what I wanted to do.. changed it up and did work!

Personally, things need to be fresh and exciting! Well, with knives that is relatively difficult, so different steels/exotic steels always help push the money at the maker :)

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!

All posts are now center justified when I view them.

Oh well, hiding out in the shop, drinking and making toys. Working on a Brute d'Forge finished bronze top right now. Ok, I lie, I'm pretty much working on a good buzz riight now, lol! But I am making a top!

The wife is going out with the girlfriends tonight, so she gets to watch the boy while I play in the shop until the girls show up. My boy doesn't even know I'm home, kinda mean, but if he knows I'm out here he will be between my feet trying to help with everything. Just too dagerous or a curious 4 year old!

Daniel, isn't Jade coming up on two in a couple months? Don't worry, two isn't all that bad, it's the prerequisite course to the destructive 3rd year! 3 will make you insane. Just a friendly heads up.... :D

With great pleasure I can say that I am finally about to join the DFK family. I have a 3" Pocket Fighter in CPM154 in bound from Daniel. I still can't believe I lucked out in grabbing one. Cheers to you Daniel. I'll post a few pics once it arrives.

Couple of tops I got made today, both are sold already! Bronze bodies in brute d'forge finish. The little one is patinated and has a solid carbide spindle. The big one is bright finished and has brass spindle. The big one is capable of very long spins, just got to get it going fast enough. So far getting over 5 minutes with so-so spins.

And no, I'm not taking orders for these, especially from DFK's backyard.

Managed to kill a six pack today....just to watch it die.
