I think I would be in good company to say that Knifeworks next exclusive with m390 and blue black g-10 should be the 940

I'd love to see that but I don't know if Benchmade will go for that because at $200 it'll cut into the sales of the 940-1 which goes for $263.50. A regular 940 goes for $182.75!
 
It wouldn't be that significant of a dip in sales if it was a limited run. I just sold my 940 and picked up a 943. I would Definitely be in the market for a knifeworks exclusive.

M390 ok, but does it have to be? Maybe a k390? I know blue is their color, but what about black and yellow/gold scales with gold ano? To coincide with a gold class color scheme.

I want to see a standard production 530/531 with m390. Excluding the Gold Class 531s, no other 530/531 has ever had better steel than S30V, no matter how limited they were. I realize the 531 is fairly new, but the 530 is not. I would be alright with a limited run also, as long as it involves carbon fiber.

940-1 style carbon fiber scales, blue/red/green anodized barrel spacer, stonewashed clip-point m390/s90v blade. I can dream. :)

There was a Benchmade 530-1303 in carbon fiber with S30V last year exclusively through REI and it was going for about $220! Super light folder and great CF. The limited edition run was for 178 pieces.
 
the m390 and blue black scales would just be to match the previous two knifeworks exclusives they have had, being the 810 and 710, a 950 would also be cool, im just hoping to see a 940 in the near future

YES! Rift needs to be in M390. 940? As Ramzar has mentioned, there is 940-1 released recently and not much sales gain with M390. There are not much merit over S90V (it might have made the difference over S30V).

Want Griptilian with S30V and G10? Look for REI limited edition. (551-1401)

The REI Griptilian 551 Green/Black G-10 is only in stock for the serrated one but it says you can backorder the plain edge one!

If I remember correctly there's supposed to be an upcoming REI Mini-Griptilian 556 Green/Black G-10 as well.

I'd say there's much to lose for Benchmade to make a 940 with G-10/M390 for $200 and thus cannibalize the 940-1 sales at $263.50!

The rift needs an upgraded steel option aside from the very limited M4 run.


I've almost bought one several times, I just can't go over the hump for 154CM for the price.

Especially if BM is not going to change it's warranty policy.

- I would buy the Benchmade 531 with M390 in a heartbeat.
 
I would go 940 or 531 ............however it would be hard to kick the 940-1 out of my pocket.
 
940-1 is a gold class for the common man. Like a dream come true; a straight up work horse EDC. I love it.

It's getting hard to know what to which to carry. Y'all just have to make suggestions and hopefully BM will pleasantly surprise us with another affordable gem.

A 531 in m390, s90v, s30v, m4 or similar would be just about right for me.
