Roger asked me to post this today as he finally had cell phone service this afternoon.
As many of you know Roger took the majority of his crew on a cruise to reward them for there hard work over the past year. As it turns out, they will not be back to the store as planned and may not be back till Friday.
(They are in the middle of quite an un expected / unpleasant ordeal)
He does plan on working through the weekend catching up on orders placed this week.
He called me to get the word out & ask his loyal customers for a little understanding do to the unexpected circumstances in the above link.

That's about it.
This seemed like the best place to post this. Feel free to move if its not.. Thanks....

Wow. :(

(CNN) -- A Carnival cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico with more than 4,200 passengers and crew will be towed to port after a weekend engine fire left it dead in the water, a cruise line official said.

Extended vacation! And maybe they'll get something for their trouble. Who knows? As long as I was safe, I'd see it as a win. :)

I feel bad for them and their customers though.

Thanks for the update MCM~!

Somewhat fitting for this forum, since the next knife I intend to order from them is a Benchmade.

And BTW on our TV news tonight the report was that the ship had one tugboat on it now and they expected a second one tomorrow, and eventual arrival in Alabama on Thursday.

I see that the ship is listing to the side at 4.5 degrees due to strong winds. Doesn't sound like a fun time.

Hope they make it back home safe soon.

I never saw the appeal of "cruising" and here's one reason why. To each his own. This situation seems to be getting progressively worse,I hope for a safe return

for all involved. Then let the lawsuits begin.

As this isn't Benchmade specific, let's share this with the rest of the community.

There have been many close calls, at some point something worse will happen. I would rather spend my money on a good all inclusive holiday at a decent hotel on the beach where I can go for walks than to be crammed in by the thousands within the confines of a ship where many things can go wrong. They also serve as marketing traps to encourage spending that one might not have otherwise have done

They are my personal fav for internet orders. I hope things get better soon for them. The headlines are not painting pretty pictures... (do they ever?).

Prof.

Man, I hope EVERYONE gets their money back. Terrible ordeal, why I won't go on a cruise.

Let me clarify, gets their money back from the cruise line, not Knife Works. Knife Works is run by good people.

And, to think my wife wants me to go on one of those cruises. I live less than 30mins from Galveston. She's been wanting me to take her on one of those cruises for a long time. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!! You are at the mercy of a ship, controlled by someone else. And, then bad things happen like this. Not for me. Thanks for the update on them though.

I don't understand why carnival doesn't cancel a cruise on another ship, and then load all of the people up to the new cruise ship, since apparently other carnival ships are feeding these people. Typical greed.

Actually, Carnival is avoided by the "cruise community" because of rampant problems and complaints. Believe me, once you've been on several different ships you'll understand it. Something else to consider...Carnival owns Costa Cruises...Costa Concordia ring a bell?

Knife Works is run by good people.

No argument! Great people indeed.

Hope they at least had a good time before disaster struck! Based on my past dealing with Knifeworks I'd say they all earned that vacation and that's an unfortunate way to end it.

Drat and double drat!
I placed an order with them just at the right time to get into limbo.

Enough about me, I'm sorry they are in that mess, sounds like "jail".

I cruise, and love it, will do it again, have borded from Galveston several times. Great food, carefree, no phonecalls, no driving, no "attitude" from staff, warm weather, super clean.

You know, you stand much higher chance of harm just driving your car.

Yeah, that is what we did when the school bus broke down!
