In the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, an individual who is most likely on the far-left of the political spectrum, posted a complaint on a website for posting for posting community concerns.

Someone had put a sticker on bike rake which irked a person who thought it was a knife:

and the concerned citizen said: "Somebody put knife stickers on these things. I find this very offensive. Please have them removed"

It was later realized that it was a sticker of switch-comb and not a knife and the case was closed with a promise to remove it.

Wow, what is wrong with people like that? Do they use scissors to cut up food at their house....or just bite it into pieces?

Knife pictures! DANGER, DANGER.

Sometimes, the authorities should just tell people to grow up.

Probably. It could be worse though. I live with one of these people. My dad is petrified of fixed blades or having more than 2 knives of any kind. Including a SAK. I kid you not

Well, it could have been ostanley99's dad that complained? ha. :D
No seriously, people who complain about stupid stuff, really need to cut it out.

I wouldn't doubt it. The only reason it isn't is because I'm in Oregon. This man freaks out over a fixed blade because it's too big, yet conceals a .45 more often than I have a knife

Imagining this made me laugh like I haven't in a while.

I guess the perception of switchblades as being weapons versus the perception of kitchen and table knives as being tools and utensils by many people leads to this kind of blind phobia of knives. What makes this even more interesting is that I wouldn't at all be surprised if I found out that more people were intentionally harmed with kitchen knives than with switchblades.

Don't let idiots lead you to believe that all people on the far-left of the political spectrum are whiny and stupid sheep. Most of my family and I are serious leftists (of the libertarian variety) and we've been using and occasionally even making knives since before I can remember.

This situation kind of reminds me of the New York Daily News reporter who claimed that firing an AR-15 gave him "a temporary form of PTSD."

Sheep will be sheep.

I'm not sure about switchblades specifically, but I know that kitchen knives are more widely used than any "scary" knives people always want regulated. It makes sense. I want to mug someone because I don't have money. I have a $5 kitchen knife I can use or I can go and get a low quality $25 switchblade. If I get caught the knife is being confiscated, so I think I'll use the big kitchen knife. That's just my $0.02

I wonder what Freud would have said about a fear of switchcombs? :D

They're afraid of switchcombs and I'm sitting here flipping a Benchmade AFO 2 switchblade. This is funny and annoying to me at the same time. It's funny since I already have my switchblade but annoying since I've been seriously looking at the Protech Don line. Can we please just get rid of the federal switchblade act? It's idiotic and outdated

One hair away from banning the two idiots directly above the post before this one.
