Knight Blades For Blade :) UPDATED PICS

Those look fantastic. Thank you for sharing, Joe.

Ya know, Jason may have gotten those extensions for purely practical reaons. Think of how many knives and back up guns you could hide in there! :D

I'm curious to get your opinion on something Joe (and anyone else who may have some insight). When it comes to achieving the desired balance, moment of inertia, center of percussion, etc, what are the advantages/disadvantages of using a fuller (either by itself or combined with distal taper) as opposed to using only distal/profile taper?

fantastic pictures Joe, but you seem to have cropped out the picture with him standing next to the easel :p Looking forward to seeing more of the finished pieces :)

Those look great, the larger knife is a real looker. :)

I like the hair too. it seems familiar some how......:p

These are great looking blades... would made a killer combo to go along w/my Knight Khukuri... Can't wait to get my hands on one at Blade! :)

Shawn

IMHO fullers as well as Radical distal taper are two ways to effect a blades handling characteristics. Both ways fascinate me

I do not have much experience as of yet when it comes to fullers on fighters or Bowies

In Khukuri's they have turned boat oars into wonderful blades so I am hoping for similar results with a big Bowie

In the little bit of playing around I have done, doing a fuller AND a distal taper together is a great thing but very hard to do well, especially if aesthetics are important. You are getting in to quillion dagger skill sets here. I have not been happy with any of mine so far in terms of aesthetics.

Getting close :)

Walnut handle?

...it's not the hair that's freaking me out - tell him to get a shave!

Tell him I said hey when you see him, bro. I should be going to blade this year, but perhaps we'll see what the future brings...

Hard to say for sure, but using the fuller really seems to allow for what looks like a nice strong tip. That is very appealing.
