These I made from designs the owner drew up for me to follow. Both are of S30V, carbon fiber (my first two and last), corby stainless. Hardness is 59.5 - 60 HRc for each. Both are serialized with '00', indicating the first or prototype. Specs are here: http://riflestocks.tripod.com/pics48.html

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Awesome set. Care to give away your secret for the saw teeth? I'm guessing they are done by hand?

I am not set up properly for grinding carbon fiber. I ended up dragging my grinders outside to work the carbon fiber. Even at that I had a fan directing the dust away. I'm just not able to set up for working the stuff safely at this residence.

Very cool Roger, they both look great, but I think the bottom one is my favorite.

BTW, do you have a shop vac? I've got mine set up so that when grinding mycarta and stabilized wood it sucks most of the dust away.

Hay Roger,

Just wanted to chime in here as the owner (soon to be) of the superb blade wear pictured above...;-) I haven't received them yet but you are all correct, I am very happy with Roger's work. Just from the photos I can see he is a master craftsman and he was a pleasure to deal with. I can't wait to get these puppies in hand and put them through some paces. Thanks again Roger for all your help making this project happen.

will you make more of these with diff handles? like orange g-10

Nice work Roger. That carbon fiber may be a pain to work with, but it looks great. Nice set.

Sorry but I have agreed with the customer who supplied the design not to make any more. I have already turned down two requests.

Thanks guys for all the nice remarks. Appreciated.

I believe carbon fiber is similar to g-10, etc and really requires you use a respirator or it will get you sick.....I am a new maker, but used g-10 and definitely needed the respirator.......BTW, what kind and or where did you get the carbon fiber, I would like to get ahold of some but the only i have seen has not got that really nice pattern. Also, and most importantly....really clean work, I hope to get there sometime soon...practice practice practice :D

Roger I hope you got paid for that agreement, it is worth something..

if you think about it..our work is our advertisement
and there are many that as you can see want knives the way you picture and have made them,,
repro's of your own work will sell.., you now so far have lost money on two...and maybe many many more...for what it's worth I hope this helps in future work..just 2 my cents.. :)

Mr. Gray, if as a custom maker you use somebody else's design to sell more knives, shouldn't you have to pay them?
