My daughter drew me a picture. I thought it needed an ivory Fremont. :)

Great stuff!

Here are some knives in art.

A surprise for me from my 23-yr-old son.

(The 6 x 6" painting is both clearer and more subtle in person.)

:)

Really love that one P. Nice blending by him with oil and canvas as the medium I imagine. :D

Thanks, Tim! Yes, oil on canvas. It looks better in person, but the above represents it decently.

I am looking forward to showing it to Charlie and the GEC peoples next month. :)

Man I just LOVE looking at wee kids drawings, I have kept most probably 80% of my girls Drawings, now and then we get all nostalgic and get them out and have a giggle, but they bring tears to my eyes.

Sarah - your son has great talent -when you first showed that painting I honestly said "Wow" ...oh hold on...I just clicked on your Sons link...I will repeat it..."wow"..talented guy.

I love Drawing ...I sharpen all my Watercolour pencils with Traditionals - which makes me hoe through the pencil twice as quick - but hey-its my drawing and I will do what I want to put heart into the product.
Right now I am drawing Paul Hilborns Dog Buddy, Whew...what drives me mental is that I draw so that the close you look - the more detail you see which is opposite as most painters/drawers ...so you can see hairs etc.

Thanks Derrick for this amazing Madison Barlow. Just wondering how many Mammoth Ivory Barlows are made in this 2 bladed configuration. Thanks

Your son certainly has skill.

Through the link provided: Painting section 2014, top row middle  I was that guy in my 20s.

Back to knife content

I like how he made the TC a user (with no etch). Seems more personable. His shadow work is well done as well.

I've always thought that 'Judith slaying Holofernes' by Artemisia Gentileschi was very powerful ;)

Derrick, your daughter shows much precision and determination to so carefully complete the elephant picture. My daughter soon to be 10 gets frustrated and sloppy before she has completed this type of art work.
Precision and determination are great qualities for a surgeon. I'm not predicting the future but please do remember you heard it here first.
And P., what an extremely talented son you have ! I know nothing of the 'Art World' but would think his work might well become much sought after.

My daughter is our resident artist as well. She just finished a week of Art Camp. She does three one week sessions each summer. Here is a picture I've posted before of a knife she made for me during inside recess one of the days this winter when it was too cold for them to let the kids outside to play.

Wow folks. great artists you have there.

My "probable" future son in law was an art major and got several commissions to paint people's pets, I'll bet he could do some sweet knife pictures! Hmmm.

Cory, this cracks me up beyond belief! Your Daughter knows you so well.

Derrick your daughter is quite talented. Hope you post her future work as well.:thumbup:
Cory, I had to laugh, it so cute. Really shows she daddy's girl.:)
Thank you both -RS-

This is too great. :D

This is suitable for framing. I also like Dillon's "Spurs on a Train Platform"
Thank you so much. Lest we veer, I'm leaving you a Visitor Message. :)

Music is art isn't it ??

Und der Haifisch, der hat Zähne,
Und die trägt er im Gesicht.
Und Macheath, der hat ein Messer,
Doch das Messer sieht man nicht.

And the shark, it has teeth,
And it wears them in the face.
And Macheath, he has a knife,
But the knife can't be seen.
