Knives and Coffee

I can keep it down but I really don't like coffee straight out of that moka pot. If you throw it over ice in a tall glass of milk then you really have something.

The worst coffee I ever had was out of a pot at a soda fountain in the 1960s where the guy used the coffee grains 3 days in a row. I'm not kidding, I watched him do it :(
I’ve got a guy I work with that loves his moka pot. Him and his wife both. I’ve let them borrow my Aeropress and Clever Dripper and they still prefer their moka pot. I’ve never tried it

I think at the time they came out they were pretty revolutionary and every Italian has one or more. Nowadays there are some better choice in most cases but the good thing about it is you don't need anything but the pot and coffee. They're good for throwing in a bag when you hit the road. What I don't like about it is you have to pick the right size for how much you want to make since they don't work well unless the basket is full. So if you want a fast cup sometimes and other times you want to have coffee with your wife or friends etc. you wind up with a small cupboard full of them. And they're a mess to clean up. There are better options for most scenarios nowadays. I haven't tried it but I did read a lot of comments that the aeropress makes a doggone fine cup of coffee.
