Knives and Coffee

I used to hand grind just enough for me every day. I had it down to a science. It'd take me roughly two minutes to hand grind enough coffee for my Yeti cup. By that time, the water would be just about boiling, and I'd dump it all in the press. Now that my wife has abandoned the Keurig & uses the AeroPress too, I just started grinding 5 days worth with the Barzatta burr grinder. Just doesn't seem the same.:)

I know what ya mean. It’s really like a morning ritual. It usually takes me about 30 seconds or so to hand grind it. We’ve got way too many coffee operations going on in my household ha…. I’m up before anyone else and I make my single cup of Aeropress, or clever dripper sometimes, first. I hand grind it each morning. Then I’ve got an auto drip machine to make my wife’s two cups before I leave, one for the house and then one she takes to work. I’ll grind hers in the electric grinder each morning as well. Then my step daughter uses a Keurig with the refillable pods. I’ll just grind enough of hers for several days at a time and put it in a container. My dad uses a Baratza encore at his house and we’ve got another encore at the shop/office. I use an Ode electric grinder at the house and a C40 hand grinder. Aeropress is still my go to tho
