I just finally burned thru the last of the old Webers I had. These new ones aren’t nearly as heavy duty but Ive got one going on 3 years so i wont complain.I see the Weber charcoal chimney in the background.I went through two or three of the cheaper ones before I bought the Weber that I've been using for 20 years.
I've always bought Weber grills, but didn't think the few extra bucks for the chimney was necessary. My oldest Weber kettle is probably over 40 years old, but it's the smaller model, so it doesn't get much use anymore. The larger kettle is about 30 years old, & the Weber 22" smoker is over 25. The Weber three burner gas grill is only about 10.I just finally burned thru the last of the old Webers I had. I am down to 5 Weber kettles as im getting older and slower. I just replaced my 3 dedicated “ smokers“ ( 22” kettles) 2 years ago. They were circa 1995 and had seen many 100s of 12+ hour cooks on each.I've always bought Weber grills, but didn't think the few extra bucks for the chimney was necessary. My main kettle is still a 26’ I bought in ‘91 and I have a newer one sitting next to it ready to go if it ever gives up.
Nice to know im not the only old guy still cookin on the real grills!
