About to start my morning roasting, though not liquid yet it'll begin its journey shortly.

What is morteado? I tried to Google it but no luck. It sounded like mortar/grind or roast but I couldn't tell.

I don't mean to speak for him, but I think it's just what the roast was named. I name all mine by region and profile. For instance I have a Zimbabawe Mzuzu that I recently roasted. I named the roast Dark Mzuzu.

Ahhhh got it! So it's just for marketing purposes.

Comes from "mortear," old Spanish word, is part of the process before roasting the coffee beans, probably used only on the region where I'm from.

What are the roasts that you enjoy? I'm partial to my Ethiopian Yirrgacheffe for a light roast, and for a dark I am really into the new Mzuzu I roasted. It has some very malty, chocolate, and roasted hazelnut tones that punch through and don't leave the sweater feel on the tongue like some Sumatran varieties tend to.

My knowledge about coffee is very limited, but my coffee of choice comes from Mexico and is cultivated by my relatives there, they do the whole process for us, I'm very thankful I still enjoying it.
