  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Knives and Coffee

I grabbed 2. The 3.5" in blue and this 4" black.
Great flipping action with an internal detent. (I watched a video and the reviewer stated there was no detent but that's untrue. The smaller X5 was a little gritty new so I disassembled and there's a small detent spring bar mounted in the handle. A little lube and the grittiness is gone).
Fit and finish is top notch for a production piece and has a few unexpected features that I wouldn't expect. Filler tab and 2 pocket clips for example.
These have no washers by design as usual with Hogue and honestly they don't need them. The blade handle interface is huge and with no washers makes for solid, no blade-play design by nature.
After carrying them around for a while I think I'll hang on to the large and contemplate listing the smaller blue on my next trip to the exchange. The large seems to fit my xxl hand just a little better.

Thanks for all the info, much appreciated! Those little unexpected features are always a nice surprise. I wasn't aware they had no washers either. But hey, if it works, it works! Great looking blade, glad you like it! Another one to add to the never ending list!

Very, very nice! That's the xm-18 spitfire, right? Gorgeous blade!

Thanks! Rick made a blade similar to this called the hellfire, this is a 10v blade I made for my xm with a spin off of that grind :)

Alright, who wants to add a twist to this and state either the coffee in the pic with your knife and/or your favorite coffee? Will give me some ideas :D

Awesome thanks gonna check it out!

Be careful! That thread is full of rabbit holes. Brew methods, home roasting, coffee swaps, and even some knife content once in a while.

Here's a few photos that I don't think I've posted in this thread before.
