100% We bought our daughter a mini dachshund puppy early 2006 a few months before I was diagnosed with a rare melanoma syndrome. Cole bonded with me as I went through 4 years of immunotherapy and chemotherapy. While the wife was at work and kids in school he was by my side. I Swear he could “feel “ my mood and definitely understood non verbal gestures. He lasted 17 years and our family misses him daily. I’m still fighting melanoma and going on 19 years next month…basically won the lottery with the extra time I’ve gotten. Family, Friends ,Cole , And the other dogs have had a huge part in my longevity.

Love that you had Cole through that part. Hate he is gone but feel certain he is watching over you. Glad you have other pups around you.

It's been 13 years since Einstein passed, but I still think about him all the time. His head was massive and he was more likely to steal a piece of bread from the table than a steak.
