Alright.
I really miss hunting season already. :(

Freshly caught fish will be the next critter that gets taken to the blade on this end.
Please post any pics of knives and game you may have...

Below is my son's first Ruffed Grouse.
Tastes like chicken...
without the added growth hormones, antibiotics, and standing in the poo of hundreds of his closest friends in confinement. :D

Knife is a Bob Dozier Canoe in stag with his thumb break neck sheath. This model will cut your steak AND field dress a large North American Whitetail.
With ease!

Please, this is a Wilderness and Survival forum. No need to excuse or qualify your pics of legally and ethically taken game animals in this thread.

Thanks! :)

Yep awesome picture - love everything about it!
That stag might someday like some leather pants when it needs to dress up!

Cool pic. I'm going fishing this weekend so I hope I get some good ones as well

I mostly whitetail deer hunt. I used alot of different knives over the last 27 years of deer hunting. Here;s a pic from a couple of years ago. A Knives of Alaska hunter hatchet, Nessmuk and a Buffalo knife.

Great pic Scott.
Were you using the hatchet for the pelvis, the Nessmuk to field dress, and the
buffalo knife to take down the corn stalks? :D

Yep, the Dozier deserves some nice leather. Gonna send it to Paul Long someday. He is at the top of the game for leather and service.

Anymore pics....? :)

Add, actually the Nessmuk was one I made for my hunting buddy. He used it on the one deer. I wanted to see how well an 8" blade would do field dressing so I used it on the other deer. I am glad I had that large blade because I had to track a deer through some greenbriars and thick brush. It helped bushwhack my way in to follow the blood trail. The hunters hatchet popped the pelvic bone.

Scott,
I drool over your knives every time I see them. My question is about your hatchet though. I've been looking at the Alaska hatchet for a while but heard nothing about it. Do I want one? How well do they hold up?
I have their little Cub, and love it for intricate work such as minor surgeries getting slivers out and so on.
Thanks in advance

I like it although have only used it very little. I've done a small amount of chopping and used it on deer.
