Hi everybody,

I'll be traveling to Manhattan on May, a good chance for me to get some new equipment without international shipping costs. Anyone knows of any knives/slingshot/camping/weapon/edc/etc. shops in downtown Manhattan? I'll be located in the area of Broadway and 10th but if there won't be any options I might even consider a day trip to Brooklyn or Jersey (as long as it's on the weekend).

Any recommendation for stores or shows will be welcomed.

Thanks, D

Your best bet will be Paragon Sports located at 867 Broadway at 18th Street. Huge outdoor store, not a huge selection of knives though.

HAhahahahahahahahahahaha. Good luck. The few stores you find that 'MIGHT' have knives you're interested in, you'll be breaking the law in Manhattan by possessing as soon as you walk out of the store. Unless you're willing to travel outside of NYC, I personally wouldn't bother.

At Paragon you'll find fixed, non locking and some custom fixed and non locking knives.

While you're here, do not walk around NYC with a knife visually "clipped" to your pocket, keep it in your pack or down inside your pants pocket.
If you don't wear a baseball cap backwards, sideways, your pants low enough to show your underwear, you have nothing to worry about, carry away.

You could try "Knives Knives Knives". It's in the knife district.
There's also "Just Knives", but their selection is kinda limited.

Thanks for this suggestion - I've been working in NYC/Manhattan for 10-years and never knew about this place - going to check it out.

Best made is in lower Manhattan also the filson store has some knives too. There are some good stores 15-20 minutes outside in Jersey but for the most part both places are like a communist state. REMEMBER no visible pocket clips. If you have any other ? Feel free to email me and I'll try to enlighten you. Jfk111070@gmail.

I think that if I leave the store with the knife boxed and in a bag - I break no law.

Looks amazing but above my budget. I was thinking more in the direction of a Griptilian or a Paramilitary. But if I'll be in the neighborhood I'll surly check it up.

I will update this thread upon return with any info I will gather. Thanks again.

Correct: "knife boxed and in a bag" - you break no law.
"a Griptilian or a Paramilitary", you won't find those in NYC because they are locking knives.
However if you purchase a Paramilitary or Griptillian online from Cuttlery Shoppe you can have them ship to you at your hotel.
Just an idea.
