Knives and travel...

If you can't bring a knife on your cruise ship, make a beeline to the buffet (you'll have to hurry to make it before the crowd) and eat a steak, keep the steak knife for the length of the cruise.

dont forget the makeshift sock sheath.

if you are worried about it there are masses of carbiner, and multitool blades if you need a tool knife. if its CQC only deployment knives, for tactical defence, cold steel has alot of mini defense knives there are pen knives ,belt buckle knives, necklace knives, and my personal favorite theres a company that makes credit card sized mini-kits with a knife toothpick tweezers light compass etc, and most of these are all less than $20 so theives wont break your bank, now weather or not you can have these items go by laws and rules applied to your situation and location. I never go anywhere without some kind of blade.

I had no problems flying to a WA state with my Benchmade 913 a month ago. I put it in a sock then hide it in one of my boxers ,that were in a big bag I checked to a luggage.
