"Knives are Only Good for Killing..."

The one thing that those types hate is having their question turned back
on them.

"Isn't that knife to big?"

Would you like me to carve a turkey with a spoonful of jello?

"I think that anyone who carries a knife is violent"

Boxes need to be opened and rope does need to be cut.

"Only a criminal would carry a knife like that"

No criminals don't have jobs where they have to open things.

"I am afraid of anyone who carries a knife"

Why? Are you afraid of mechanics who carry pipe wrenches?

or
"Are you afraid of your local Butcher? They use bigger knives than this one
almost everyday"
or
"no one should own a knife like that"
Only good people should own knives like that.

well most part of the world is becoming sheeple friendly...

You should say "Knives are only good for killing, i didn't know that come here and let me have a go"

My reply is usually something like, "I'll remember that the next time that you want to borrow it to cut something." Then I make good on that to make the point when they come to borrow it, which they always do.

Once I read a good reply in this very forum, something like: "when I see a knife I think about a tool, if you see it and think about a weapon, then you are the one we must be scared of".

No kidding. That's what someone at work told me the other day when he sees me showing another fellow my Simonich Salish.

This comment was followed up with "Do you actually think your'e ever going to stick someone with that?" To which I responded "I might."

Just look surprised at him and ask him what he uses to cut his steak with.

Like so many on this forum I too have had to deal with the whiny, wimpy weasels who complain about, accuse and accost anyone who carries any type of bladed object.
In my 19+ years on active duty I haven't had it too bad in and around the military, although I have had it out with one or two 'wusses' who need a serious bit of 'reconditioning'. Most of my experiences are with civilians.
One of the ways I am dealing with it is to teach my daughters about knives and weapons. I figure if we all train our kids/family in the proper use and definition of knives we can infiltrate the weepy, bleeding hearted liberal slime out there and slowly convert the masses.
My girls are young but already quite comfortable with knives. Sometimes maybe just a bit too much so. In fact I have already put away a Sebenza for my oldest and am trying to figure out what to get my younger daughter.
Like others here I am pretty discreet about carry and use but if confronted I will usually deflect paranoia with humor and/or have them explain why they don't carry one. Often times I have 'helped' others see just how unfounded their stupid paranoia is.
Hope this helps.

M.O.P.

I'll also point out that every single day, cars kill more people than knives, either through reckless or drunken driving, or intentionally as a weapon. None of the wussies ever has an answer for that, because almost without exception they all drive. They'd have a fit and go into a spree-killing rage if their car ownership rights were to be taken away from them.

LOL

People ask me, "Why do you carry a gun?".
I always look at them as serious as possible and say, "In case I have to shoot someone."

That usually does the trick.

I forgot about this one:
I've covertly deanimated a computer with my knife.
Actually it was not very covert and I used the tang of my Spyderfly.
The steel case was warped and the access panel jammed, but I had to open it to fix so I beat the latch several times until it bent and I could pull it off. Made a right racket too!
So yes knives are good for killing, but a hammer would have been better.

nice Jaime :)

Face it folks , plenty of our fellow humans are just stupid. It is up to us more wise folks to educate them if possible , ignore them if not.
I make a rude face when I get a comment like that , I look at them like I am examining a bug under a microscope , gets them every time.
Man , I cant stand stupid people.

That's the thing about a knife. You can use it to cut your bread or your neighbour. Just like alot of things it is bad people who give good things a bad name.

Good luck, stay safe.
