Hey Knifers~ I am an auctioneer in Georgia, Atlanta area. I have a lot of my good buyers asking for a specialty knife sale. I have one scheduled for the end of July but wanted to make sure that it was a "quality" sale. In my attempts to avoid fakes and junk, I have a local knife expert that I am consulting but also wanted to get this forum's feedback, as well.
A couple of questions...
What is the biggest mistake you have seen made by an auctioneer when selling a knife?
What categories should I try to include?
What information should be included in the description?
What else should I try to do or not do to make this a good sale for knife collectors?
Thanks for any info. As you can see, I am a knife newbie but plan on knowing a lot more by July.
