Knives at college

Graduated from DePaul University in downtown Chicago and carried a leatherman while on campus and made sure to follow Chicago statute due to the campus being in the middle of the city if I carried any other folder.

You are taking criminal justice? I would think the most you would want to skirt the rules is a little sak or multitool.

Why a cleaver? I would think a good kitchen knife would be better than anything. Even then, how much are you going to cook? If you are Que'ing and stuff sure, otherwise I don't see much need (which I would still just go with a cheapie bought when you need it)

<2.5 inches is the allowable at SDSU, so I can bring my Spyderco Dodo or my Kershaw scallion. My Ladybug is always on my keys.

I don't cook. I'm on my phone right now in bed and my kabar is poking me in the back. I just don't sleep we'll without some sort of weapon within easy reach.

The smart thing to do is use a little caution at first. Go to school and check out the vibe on campus before you bring any knives - some colleges are not all that strict on pocket knife carry while some will suspend you immediately and have you escorted off campus by a police officer.

Bring a baseball bat if that's the case. I feel like you'd have an easier time explaining a bat than a modded kitchen knife especially if you don't need it. I agree with everyone before saying feel out the college first before doing anything iffy.

I can carry up to 4 inch folder and 6 inch fixed blade on my campus. A fair amount of students EDC on my campus, kinda cool.
