HELP! The cops at my college last year were awesome and openly refused to enforce the knife laws/regulations on campus, but at my new university this year they abide by a strict UNDER 2in limit. Options?Locking?Slipjoint?

Best locking option I can think of would be a Spyderco Chicago. Other than that, look into traditionals.

C
hicago is a no go, because blades must be UNDER 2 inches. I think a ladybug is as big as i can get. This makes me sad.

Carried a small Swiss Army Knife (SAK's are so common as to almost not be thought of as knives) with knife, nail file/screwdriver, scissors, toothpick and tweezers on various campuses for over 20 years. The whole knife's 2" with a 1 1/2" blade and it'll do everything you need on campus as a student, TA or prof. I also had a variation with a pen, scissors and light (same size) but no toothpick and tweezer. Can't remember the exact model name, but a quick search will pull it up for you.

I never even thought of the nano thanks! These restrictions are crazy, but the last thing i need is to get arrested for something like this.

Protech makes some auto knives that are under the 2 inch limit. Look at the Sprint, Half-breed and Runt.

Try a Spyderco Squeak. That is a favorite of mine, small and very deep carry clip. Only thing is that it is a non-locking folder.

It sounds like you are going to be restricted to just the small 58mm SAK's. The Victorinox classic, rambler, manager, and mini champ. They are very good little pocket knives, and like Gargs said, will do anything you will likely need to do on a college campus. School is way more important than knives, it's your future that you're building. You can carry anything you like afterward.

Also maybe one of the smaller Leatherman's, like a juice or squirt.

I would not want to learn anything from a curriculum that didn't see a need for it's students to have a knife with a blade over 2". I take it they don't serve steak on campus?

Armstrong Atlantic State University.

A sub 2 inch limit in Georgia?!?

That is some serious BS, I'm sorry that you have to put up with it. I think a lot of other members here have offered some pretty good suggestions. I would also recommend carefully going over the school's policies to make sure you have your bases covered.

Have you tried to fight this pointless infringement on your freedom?

A sub 2 inch limit in Georgia?!?

knives and guns are at each university's discretion Georgia. Anything from allowing carry of ccw to no weapons at all. The max restriction for blades is the 2 in thing though. I had to come home to sav for college because money is tight. You would be surprised at the number of anti knife and gun people in positions of infuence here.
