Knives at the East Coast Custom Knife Show • ECCKS

Vladimir Burkovskyy flew in from Israel to this show. This folder is SO complex with his carving you have to look very quietly and closely at the incredible detail of the octopus'.

While a Lloyd Hale dagger comes at you like an Sotheby's auctioneer with a bullhorn. WOW!

Time to relax. Jot Khalsa's ceremonial Khirpan with Julie Warenski's engraving calms the senses.

Everywhere you turned there was another Italian maker with an outstanding folder. Welcome to Massimo Bacchilega. (I had a discussion with a prominent collector about this knife. He said the screws did not work for him. I told him that they make it attractive for me. What do you think?)

Case in point: Marcello Garau (Marcello knifemaker here on BF) showed us this WIP of this clever folder in a separate thread. An outstanding piece. Where are the screws?

It's only a three-piece knife, right? The closer I look the more I want. Props.

Showing again how versatile he is, Shawn Knowles creates world-classy knives. He's from NJ....

...as is Brian Nadeau. Aldo Bruno introduced me to this fine knife and maker. Precision and style. Just what I like.

Longtime friend and NY maker Sal Manaro slays them with this prototype which is being submitted to a manufacturer. Tri-state unite!

I have saved my favorite final image for last. I should not have a favorite. I need to be neutral. Nope, you won't hear that from me... ;)

That's it for all the images. I'll recap with some thoughts tomorrow.

Coop

Thanks guys and gals.

In closing, I have to applaud the makers and the knives brought to me. I have so rarely had SO many A+ pieces in one setting.

We had nine AKI members bring me knives: Dellana, Walker, Lake, Barnett, Johnson, Loerchner, Fuegen, Hancock, and Smith. We had local Jerzee boyz and international makers side-by-side. :D

To many longtime viewers, you may notice how many new backgrounds I experimented with. I kept a tally of them and tried not to repeat. (There were a couple of repeats, but I felt the background worked too well to dismiss.)

Within one week, I have edited every image, printed them, and they are awaiting the postman for delivery in the morning. My website has them all to see at once. It's been nonstop work.

This thread grew 1000 views per day. YIKES!

It shows to go ya', that our Knife World is thriving. I'm glad to be a part of this.

Great job, Coop! Especially the Lloyd Hale dagger - all that mirror polished steel curving everywhicha direction...
You make it look easy my friend!

Jim,
a big thanks for posting all these fabulous pictures and telling the story.
