Knives for Afghanistan bound USAF nurse

Hi guys, the responses I received from the original post have been fantastic. You guys have even made me go visit a local sporting goods store, and the owner is going to go through some of his inventory and see what he can donate as well. He has heard of people doing things like this, but nobody has ever approached him about it until today.
The local VFW post has even expressed a desire to help!
Again, Thank You and God Bless Kelly

Thank you Porcupinemtn. The pouch came in and it is awaesome!! I just might have to get one of those for myself. I am sure that Wendi will put it to very good use in the 'Stan. Thanks again, and God Bless Kelly

My pleasure ... glad to support those going in harms way!

Kelly,
Check your email. Have one more pouch for your friend but misplaced your address.

Grr...I have misplaced my shears...I will go snag a new pair or two on Monday while I am near civilization I hope...e-mail me an addy...

I hate to say this, but given what I know about USAF medical personnel, she is not in a bad place and will not need anything. She was probably issued a multi tool prior to deploying and that will work for a nuse just fine. The medical platoon in my Battalion has to beg stuff from the Air force because they have and can get anything they need. Maybe you should be sending stuff to the USMC or Army personnel who are guarding the USAF personnel and keeping them safe.

Per PM's behind the scenes .. These are meant to be used/or not to be used as the recipient see's fit. If they are not needed, they will be passed onto those who can regardless of the service they serve under.
Thank you for your service and stay cool (if possible) and safe.

Hey, I think getting needed extra supplies to our men and women in uniform is a wonderful idea. I know there are many programs out there, our church sends needed toiletries such as deodorant, shavers, etc. Now, please check out AG Russell for sending stuff to our troops as well as Smokey Mountain Knife Works, they have programs to send needed personal items and knives to our troops. At one point, SMKW had where a person could buy a knife for a discounted price and send it to our troops. And I know they use such items for everyday needs, etc. Please check it out or look in your area to see if other churches or organizations are having a drive to help our brothers and sisters in uniform, plus you may be sending a bit of home to cheer them up.

Thanks for the clarification Porcupinemtn, Colt6731, normally I would have to agree, but I know what it is that she will be doing, and she will not be at the USAF hospital there. Her assignment is one that will put the "hard" in hardship tour. I have some firsthand experience in what she is now doing, and I don't envy her one bit. Any items that she receives and doesn't need, will be given to the Army. Navy, and last but certainly not least, USMC personnel that she is supporting.
Colt, Thank you for your service, stay safe, Godspeedand good hunting. Kelly

Hey PorcupineMtn, The pouch arrived today, and will be sent out on Friday with
about 20 pounds of other goodies. Thank you again for the pouches, I am certain that they will be well used and appreciated. Thanks again, and God Bless, Kelly
