I didn't know what the length limits were, so i guess the FSH would be perfect at 14". Because I think putting a cutting wheel to an FBM would be :thumbdn:
The limit is 15inches overall. A FSH should be within that limit. However, I would prefer the longer blade of a FBM.
I agree. You can take the metal from the butt and leave it on the blade. That would also push your balance forward a little while keeping the blade light.
EXACTLY! Maximize blade length to get the forward balance. However, I would want it to be leaning on the anorexic side.
well you could try it on an ZTBM by grinding the butt down to the handle a-la BA-E and giving it a wicked Ban edge. That knife could do the trick if you want anorexic. You could also do this to a BM-E, both of which are way lighter than all the other bM's made.
Cobalt,
I sorta prefer the FBM because of the wider blade. The sectional density of a full flat 3/16 2inch wide blade is better than a full flat 3/16 1.5inch wide blade. On top of that the wider blade still has some heft even if it is thinned down to 3/16.
I really do like the idea of the Ergo handles. The Ergo handles have alot more modding potential than the Fusion handles.

ztbm ground down to aftershock bolo profile.
yeah that's the ticket.
or just a zero edge AS bolo.

There has not been as much discussion of this knife on BF as I might have thought, but there have been a few post about it.
Very true about sectional density. However, the ZT series blades are actually a lot wider than the std Ergos. So it would put you closer to what you want. I think the sectional density of the ZTBM is probably greater than the FBM
Are you sure the ZT blades are wider? I have played with a Satin one from Justabuyer and a coated one from Hogwash and did not notice that they were wider than the standard Ergos. If they are wider then it is really something to look into. Ok, anyone has a ZTNO they can sell me![]()
