Knives for Groomsmen

Howdy.

I am getting married in July, and would like to give my groomsmen knives with our date laser etched on. I can't really seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I am partial to Benchmades myself, but my realistic limit is closer to $60 per knife.

Any suggestions? I'd like to get them quality knifes (folders, no major size constraints) and they need to have enough real estate on the blade flat (spine?) to put our date and maybe names.
Thanks for your help.

one that comes to mind is the kershaw leek, it has a plain stainless steel handle which could be engraved and they are relatively inexpensive for such a good knife.

The full-size Benchmade Griptilian (or mini) and the S30V Buck Vantage Pro come to mind....

Stainless Enduras or Delicas - plenty of room on the handle to write anything you'd like (in addition to the date)

I'll second that. Etchable and useable - Leeks would make a good gift.

I'd third or fourth the Leek. Stainless handle, perfect size, very nice quality. Plus it looks like a "gentleman's folder" type of design, so it fits the atmosphere of a wedding rather well.

Another one for the Kershaw Leek. Great, slim blade with good steel and good lock. Usually around $50 for the standard leek with sandvic. Congrats on the marriage too!

Congratulations! I am getting married in August  I also recommend the Leek. You could get them all the same kind or all of them a different version which is the nice thing about leeks. They come in so many different configurations. Besides that they make a nice gentlemans folder and they could wear them in there Tux pockets and it not bee too heavy or bulky.

How about one of these A.G. Russell's? Seems like it would be easy to engrave, and the price is right. Classy looking too.

I would choose from these two options. A titanium handle, VG10, full flat ground knife is a steal for $40. AG Russell also is a stand up guy and is known for his great customer service.

Congratulations, btw.

Another for the Kershaw Leek, regular or composite. A stainless Spyderco Delica would be good too.

Hrm, not much of a Kershaw guy. But the leek does sound like an excellent choice. Probably not every groomsman is a knife nut, and plenty of tactical knives they wouldn't really enjoy, and some probably wouldn't like more traditional, gentlemens knives. The leek holds good middle ground, and it's a looker to boot.

And if every groomsman IS a knife nut, then you've got good choice in friends :p

how about the benchmade 530, minus engraving. In all honesty they probably would prefer their gifts without your date or name on them. Their own names would probably be ok though.

If the groomsmen don't like the knives, ask the bride's maids of they want them ;)

ON another note, I'm surprised no one has suggested a Sebenza! :D
