Knives for Groomsmen

I'd vote for the Kershaw Leek. It's something that I'd be very proud to receive and carry for standing up for someone getting married.

I was Godfather for one of my close buddy's kids, I received a Byrd Cara Cara engraved for me. No complaints from me - nice knife, but I'd rather have received a Leek.....lol

If knives are not their thing, how about a compact, high quality flashlight?

Just throwing that out there....

i have a friend who does professional laser engraving, if you have anything else youd like to engrave like wine glasses or anything else at all please email him at

garciaphotography@gmail.com

Hi C-Tine -

I would offer either the Victorinox Farmer in Alox, which has a nice little area for engraving, or a Kershaw Skyline (no handle area for engraving, but a sweet little knife).

I love Leeks, and they are a nice choice as well, but many people who are not aficionado's do not like assisted opening; to them it is a switchblade.

All three blades mentioned above are well within your budget level.

Best Regards -

actually in regard to which blades...personally i like the simplicity of opinels and theyre very functional and obviously have a great price point.

they also engrave very well :] as you can see

maybe a crkt drifter? im pretty sure those are framelocks and are pretty decent if they arent knifeaholics.

I highly recommend the Leek. Also make sure you have one for yourself in your coat pocket or pants pocket.

How my Leek saved our wedding:

Someone didn't "burn" the wick on the unity candle. They pretty much just singed off what bit of wick was sticking out on top of the candle. After trying our candle (like you're supposed to do it) I finally tried a cigarette lighter. When even that wouldn't work I finally popped out the Leek, scraped off a 1/4 inch or so of wax, and we finally got the deed done.

I had the knives for the pastor and the groomsmen engraved with our names and the wedding date. Our pastor still carries his. My brother lost his somewhere.

I keep thinking of replacing it for his birthday or a christmas or something.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. The overwhelming opinion seems to be for the Leek. I'll definitely be taking a look at them this week. The Leek definitely offers a large number of choice for my guys, so that might just be what I go with.

Fortunately it's a pretty military wedding, so the knives should be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all the well wishes and advice!
