:D My last deployment, we had THREE false starts! Plane was delayed and then it broke down twice over a three day period!!!! Talk about a rough one on the family when you have to say goodby three times in three days before heading off to Iraq:mad:

At least the weather won't be too unbearable (at least at night it should cool off a little), but if you're in Northern Iraq, it does get pretty cold over the winter. Stay safe bro!

awesome choices in time proven designs:thumbup:

out of curiosity did you get custom sheaths made so you could take them on and off of your gear without removing everything first? i have read many articles about knives that come with traditional sheaths (randall) being more of a hassle because they don't have the modern tec-loc for easy removal from web gear.

Nope just reg. sheaths. The Randall will be on my leg, leg drop , or on my vest. If its on the vest it will be with 550 cord.

Check with your COC regarding bringing them back. I few of my buddies have had trouble bringing knives they took with them back???? The Army can be odd like that. You may have to Fedex them home. Stay safe and maintain a strong posture, ACF are looking for the soft target.

Your taking more then I did.

I had 3 Busse's, 1 Dozier, 1 Benchmade, 2 Leatherman tools, and 1 Gerber tool. And the big ass pig sticker they issued us.

Better to be delayed here than anywhere else. I got stuck in Kuwait for 5 days headed there last Sept. Jet lagged + 120 deg weather + nothing to do = sucks.

Anyway - keep your head down and Godspeed
