Some folks may remember a few months ago I decided to purge a large amount of my collection and limit myself to just carrying my ZDP Delica and Endura in an effort to really get to know them. To make them definitely mine.

I've enjoyed that undertaking to date. I have a huge appreciation for these two knives. Their build quality, cutting performance, edge holding... all outstanding. They're definitely mine.

I do still like experiencing new knives though and would like to find a good middle ground. I decided to do a "Knife of the Month" starting in October and carrying on into 2019.

Above is a poll consisting of knives I'm interested in. Pick the 3 that you think I should carry for the last three months of the year.

The top 3 choices will be purchased and each will be carried for a month solid. I'll write a review at the end of the month and I'll decide at that point whether it's mine or for sale.

Hopefully this will turn into a useful long-term review series and a good, sustainable knife collecting model for me.

I'll post photos of the knives below.

Picked the Fox Tur, Boker FR Marble CF and 609. The 609 I have looked at a dozen times, I like the shape but I still can't make up my mind on the size. The Boker looks quite nice and I am wondering how QC is going to be and the Fox, well Italian Knives can use a bit more love I think. I dig the AGA Zero, but since it's a big auto it's a big no no here, and if it turns out to be great I'd be annoyed I can't get one :D:confused:

I threw in the Zero as a wildcard. It's a knife I've looked at a lot and always talked myself out of. It's the least practical thing there, but definitely speaks to my inner 9 year old.

Looks like the 0609 is definitely going to be in the top 3. The other two spots have changed a couple of times now.

Kinda funny I picked three of the top 4 voted currently. I would have picked all 4 if it was pick 4 and not 3 lol

I hear ya but man I like that style: lever lock with modern materials? Makes me drool.

Agreed. The length, particularly of the handle, is all that's kept me away. If it were the size of the standard "Don" from Protech I'd probably have several.

The large Don is, I suspect, about the same size as this. Maybe a little bigger, but it always felt clumsy in my hand. More like and absurdly short spear than a long knife.

The Chap is still in the lead which is really surprising. I'm sure I'll love it, but it's a small, frn handled Spyderco back lock... on paper it really shouldn't inspire this much interest.

I have a Tur and it’s a fine piece with great steel. It doesn’t open as smoothly as a Sebenza for example but it’s a nice little knife. The fat CF scales fit the hand nicely.
