"Hi folks,
Id like to introduce you to Hanna.
She is 7 years old and recently diagnosed with Leukemia. She is the granddaughter of John (JK Knives) a great knife maker here on BF.
You can read the thread about her if youd like: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/971860-Prayer-Request
I know money is tight. Im in the same boat as most of you not enough money and too many expenses.
But I had to do something to help little Hanna. I just had to.
That means some of my favorite knives have got to go. It also gives you the opportunity to help Hanna while helping to curb your desire for more custom knives.
All proceeds (less shipping costs) will go directly to Johns family. No trades, please; these knives are up for sale solely to help Hanna.
Im offering 5 knives for sale. I tried to pick out a good assortment: from small to large, and inexpensive to well, more expensive. I hope there is something that scratches your itch.
JK PDT (Personal Defense Tool)
5 OAL
1 tall
1/8 01 steel
¼ Black, Canvas Micarta handles (the handle portion is roughly ¾ thick)
Black kydex sheath (also from JK)
Left-side chisel grind (a double chisel)
Blade is just a hair over 2 (from tip of point to handle)
This knife has seen some use, not a lot but it must be considered as a used knife. I bought it new (ordered it from JK Knives) for $55.00 earlier this year.
It is a very handy little knife and it cuts like the dickens. The kydex sheath holds the knife very securely; even with the knife upside-down. It would make for a great neck-knife or a back pocket daily carry.
There are a couple of spots (stains that would likely buff out) and some marks from the sheath. Please check the pictures.
The large holes are for your thumb; aiding your grip while using the knife. It is a very comfortable knife to use (despite its small size).
I am asking $40 plus shipping.SOLD & Shipped
Hargis Drop Point Utility in fancy Mesquite
Mesquite handles with black and brick liners
1/8 -1095 steel
Flat grind with machine satin finish
Stainless pins and tubing
7 & 5/8 OAL
Tip to Scales 3 & ½
Blade height 1 & 3/16
Leather sheath
Antler bead on leather lanyard
I bought this knife on BF. The sale thread is found here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/888924-Drop-point-utility-in-fancy-mesquite-SOLD
This is a beautiful knife. Not too big and not too small. It is in pristine condition: one of the very few knives, in my possession, that has not seen use.
This knife is very comfortable in hand and the sheath is a work of art.
I thought I got a bargain when I paid $110 for this knife.
Im asking $90 plus shippingSOLD & Shipped
JK Green River Knife
9 & 3/4 OAL
5 X 1 & ¼ blade
01 Steel
Oak handles
Brass pins
Leather Sheath
I purchased this knife from John last October. The sales thread is here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/887381-October-Special-1
I did a review on this knife. It can be found here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/898650-JK-Green-River-Knife?p=10182948#post10182948
I believe this knife is one of a kind. To my knowledge, John has not made another one like it. At any rate, this knife is the first of its kind. It is not serialized.
This knife has seen slight use and should be considered to be a used knife. It is in excellent condition and will, with care, last well beyond your lifetime.
The handle is meaty and hand-filling, yet comfortable in a variety of positions. At 1/8 inch thick, this knife is a great slicer; yet sturdy enough to take abuse.
I believe I paid $125.00 for this knife. I am asking $100.00 plus shipping.SOLD & Shipped
JK HD Large Nessmuk
9 & ½ OAL
5 blade
01 Steel
3/16 thick
Black Canvas Micarta handles
Stainless pins and tubes
Custom Sheath (Rick Garcia rayban on BF)
I ordered this knife from John and received it in April. I had Rick Garcia make a special sheath for it.
I am tempted to call this knife brand new and unused since it has seen only a few minutes of use while Ive owned it. However, it has seen very slight use so it must be considered to be a used knife.
Please pay close attention to the pictures: there is some staining (from the sheath) on the blade. I did not attempt to remove the stain, as it isnt something that bothered me. I am assuming that the stain can be buffed out if the new owner so desires, but I really do not know that for sure. It is as it was when I received it.
This is a beefy knife with some heft to it. It does slice well and I suspect it would make for a very good chopper despite the somewhat short (for chopping) blade. The handle is extremely comfortable and the blade shape in my opinion is one of the best ever.
The custom sheath is a thing of pure beauty and securely holds the knife in a variety of positions. Rick does fantastic work and this sheath is no exception.
I believe I paid somewhere around $225.00 for the package (knife plus sheath) and I consider that price to be an exceptionally good price for what I received. Top notch work by both the knife-maker and the sheath-maker.
I am asking for $200.00Lowered to $175.00SOLD plus shipping. I think that is a bargain price for this package and there is the added benefit of knowing all of the proceeds (less shipping) are going to help Hanna and her family.
Belt Hawk
4 head from back to front
3 cutting edge
11 & ¾ OAL
¼ 01 steel
Brass pins
Oak handles (9 & ¼ long)
Leather cover for the head
I ordered the Belt Hawk from John and received it in February of this year. It has seen very limited use (just a few minutes) due to my being very busy since Ive owned it.
Consider the Belt Hawk to be used (since it did see a few minutes of use) but in the same condition as it was when I received it.
If youre into choppers: this is your tool. It was made for chopping and it handles like a dream. The Belt Hawk has ample heft, yet is light enough to use for extended periods of time. The head is shaped so as to allow for choking up, and this Hawk can be used in a manner that is similar to an Ulu (for scraping and butchering game or making precise cuts).
This is a very comfortable tool to use; the handle fits my hands with precision and John did a wonderful job of creating a finely balanced tool.
I believe I paid $170.00 for this Belt Hawk.
I am asking for $150 SOLD & Shippedplus shipping costs. It is worth every penny and more plus you dont have to wait (John has a 2-3 month waiting list). All the proceeds (less shipping) go to help Hanna and her family.
Thank you for looking and a special thanks to those of you who purchase one of the knives Ive listed for sale. You are getting an excellent tool and the satisfaction of knowing that the money is going for a very good cause.
The above items were chosen after a great deal of consideration. To be honest, I am very attached to all of them and will almost certainly have them replaced (with the exact same items) as money allows. I chose these 5 items because of the variety I wanted to give potential buyers a good choice and the fact that I love each and every one of them. I am assuming that the new owners will find them to be as wonderful as I have."
And a few more from me....
