Knives from my father who passed away in February

So sorry to hear about your loss, but thanks for taking the time to share with us. I too lost my dad recently (he had cancer due to exposure to agent orange in Vietnam). And he also left me several knives, but most of them were gifts from me over the past 20 years. The one traditional that he had purchased for himself is pictured below, and I'll treasure it as long as I'm breathing. That being said, I also carry it and USE it... because that's just how he would've wanted it to be.

It's been 9 months since he passed, and I can tell you that time does help with the healing.... in the meantime, take care of yourself, and reach out to others when you need to - there's no shame in that, my friend.

Best regards,

Derek...

As difficult as this was for you in the writing and posting (let alone the living), I am grateful for your post, and the pictures.

It cuts to the heart, in both sorrow and the deeper holding we touch upon together when sharing these beloved objects.

Thank you.

My best to you and yours.

I am sorry for the loss of Your Father and Mother.
I am sure that there are many people that miss them than you know, as good people leave good impressions where ever they go.
Thank You for sharing the photos of Your Fathers folders that have good memories to go along with them.

My condolences on your loss. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure you have some other mementos and physical objects that he owned, but there's something about a pocketknife. Knowing that he carried it in his pocket each day that makes it so special. Take care.

So sorry for your loss. I know it makes you feel all alone but believe me it will get easier as time goes by.
Take care,
Bob

Man, I am sorry for your loss. I lost my dad working on 4 years ago. I miss him.

In relation to your post, Mama and I were going through some of his stuff last weekend and found his 104OT. I got to keep it. :)

At a time of loss and extreme sorrow it's actually wonderful to be able to share these fine knives of your father, it's something we can all relate to and be thankful for. I'm sure the man himself would endorse these thoughts:thumbup:

Regards, Will
