Knives & gear you plan on keeping

same... i've never sold a knife or tool, but i have sold a pistol. i tend to keep everything i buy, and i don't lease vehicles. i like things to be mine since i never like to get rid of anything.

That is the way to do it. I wish that I had been like that over the years. There are many things I regret getting rid of.

Last year I decided to gift a SAK to my boss. When I told my wife what I was going to do, she just looked at me and said that I would end up kicking myself if I gave that knife away. She was right.

Victorinox Alox SAK
Benchmade 551 Griptilian

Those are the only two EDC knives that have stayed. Everything else was bought to try or out of curiosity.
I've bought just about every "favorite EDC" there is and I don't care for any of them. The Griptilian is butt ugly, but works very well.

When I buy something I pretty much have the intention of keeping it....if not, why purchase it in the first place? But often down the road, tastes or requirements change and evolve and you find that what seemed like a good idea at the time no longer fits your needs.

Pretty much everything I currently own. Late 2013 and 2014 saw a lot of knives go through my hands. I'm down to 10 folders and 3 fixed blades. Everything I have I love and/or is too well loved to sell. 11th folder is supposed to be here sometime this week. Originally scheduled to arrive this past Saturday, looks like it will be Thursday. I think USPS is having too much fun flipping the knife to actually ship it.

Including the new folder I will own:

Kizer Ki4423
Spyderco's Manix 2 XHP, PM2, Bradley, Dragonfly 2 ZDP-189, Schempp Rock
ZT's 0801, 0561, and 0770CF
Brous Bionic (carrying today)
ESEE Izula
SOG Seal Pup
TSF Beast
LionSteel Opera

I have two folders I keep for posterity that are very well loved, one missing a vital piece (CS Recon 1, pivot screw fell out and is awol), and a SOG mini X-RAY Vision (circa 1999).

At this point, most anything I buy I will most likely keep. This year will see one of the new ZT's, probably the 0808, CS AK47 CTS XHP, and something in the <$700 range as a wedding gift from my fiancée.

I have a ridiculous amount of gear and I'm keeping it all :D

In reality , I'll keep all the non-knife related gear and hand it down ; same goes for knives except most (not all) of my under $100 fixed blades will probably get sold off at gun shows or whatever. I have a lot of good FB over that mark and see no reason to keep the cheaper ones as I now have ones much nicer I saved for.
