Do you conceal that sao 229?
I’ve been mulling over getting one for carry.

That one is a 220, so a little longer barrel but slimmer profile. I do conceal carry it AIWB and it's pretty comfortable, very similar to a standard 1911 commander.

Per your question, I do also have a 229 (M11 A1 variant) that I carry, but it is slightly uncomfortable AIWB due to the handle thickness.

Which 229 are you interested in? The Legion variants are pretty tempting, but the Elite has some of the same features for way less $.

Oh I should have looked closer, it looked like a 229 based on the roll mark. I was considering a SAO 229 Legion with a X300 in an Phlster light bearing enigma. Some guys I work with carry sao 226 legions on duty and they’re super nice to shoot, plus they’re great suppressor hosts.

I'm curious how well those Phlster rigs actually work, especially with a chunkier piece like the 229.

A suppressed 226 would surely be a pleasure to shoot.

The Enigma works great. I use them for any gun I carry. My carry gun today is nearly 4 lbs loaded and it handles it easily. Some things to note:

- The Enigma is a chassis, not a holster. You need to have an Enigma compatible holster
- If you have a weapon light, you need a light bearing Enigma
- The Enigma is independent of clothes, so no gun belt or any belt is needed. I can carry my 4 lb gun while wearing PJs or workout shorts
- Being separated from the belt allows there to be more options for adjustment for concealing
- It will take effort to figure out how it works best for you and sometimes that's too much of a hurdle for people
