One of my Team Mates in the 10th SFGA, the late Bernie Bright, who spent a tour as some kind of Reserve Advisor in that part of the USA. He had to drive far and wide to different reserve Centers. He told me no matter what time of the year he NEVER traveled without a sleeping bag, pad, shelter and a case of C-Rations in the trunk of his car. Sounded like a wise precaution to me. John
