Very nice Phil Indablanc!! Great pic also! Love the holster.

BTW, the P239 is the gun I most regret selling. At the time, I figured it was too big and heavy for the capacity. I'd been carrying polymer frames... Now most days I end up carrying a six-shot wheel gun.

I sort of wish they'd bring it back like they've done periodically with other models. Really, I'd like to see Sig develop new guns in DA/SA. With models like the P365 setting the current standard, it's been at least two generations since we've seen good DA/SA models. (No, I don't count the Springfield XDE from the last generation.)

I've never shot 10mm. At one point I considered it, but my arthritis got worse and even .40 was too much. Times have changed arthritis is much better, but my next gun is going to be a Dan Wesson revolver in .44mag.

That’s a serious kick. My Bulldog in .44spl kicks like a mule, shooting .44mag is really ‘’different” experience.
Mildest felt recoiling revolver I ever shot was a scopeless 8 inch barrel single action Ruger in .44 Magnum.
The grip shape on a single action lets the barrel rotate up during recoil, rather than slam that raised section that allows double action shooting being slammed into the thumb web.
One of the worst felt recoil handgun I ever used was a S&W J Frame Military & police with 6 inch barrel, in .38 Spcl/.357 Magnum.
I still prefer the 1911 in .45 ACP, however. 😷👍
I have no idea what those who claim the .45 ACP's recoil twists the pistol enough to sprain or even break your wrist are talking about.
At 5'8 and around 130 lbs when I got my first 1911, and 5'7 and 160 - 165 pounds when I got my last, I'm not a "big guy". I've never noticed any twisting when shooting my 1911's, .44 caliber reproduction 1858 Remington New Army, or .36 and .44 caliber open top reproduction Colt revolvers, or my .50 caliber muzzleloading single shot percussion pistol with 50 to 110 grain FFg behind a patched .455 round ball.

The one gun I regretfully sold was a DW Monson, Ma M15. It was unfired, I couldn't bring myself to shoot it.

afishhunter afishhunter well, 8” is plenty to handle well magnum load… I personally have no problem with large caliber recoil, .45acp is just fine with me. Still, .44mag as a round carries lots of power, I would imagine it’ll kick. Felt recoil is just this - felt recoil, very subjective.
I've shot all the way to .500 S&W magnum. I'm 6'4.5" 245lbs.

.45acp is just a big old push. .40 is the one that can be hard on the wrists, especially some polymer pistols.

I'm fine with 9mm for CC in that I can shoot it well one handed if need be, plus it's getting harder to find subcompact guns in larger calibers unless it's a single stack 1911. I don't like carrying cocked and locked, I dislike manual safeties.

Oh, BTW, canik fedexed me the new recoil spring. Can't wait to see how it works.

K.O.D. K.O.D. yes, I’m with you for the most of the statement. I’m shooting 9mm, .40smith and .357 sig with my G22 and never had any recoil issues even the .357sig broke my titanium trigger pin and I just went back to the stock-once.
Recoil is very subjective and yes, polymer frames are prone to give you more of it but with developing proper grip most of this is easy to work out.
Good luck w the .44mag, I’m curious about the specs of the gun, would be nice if you post it further on…
Oh, I forgot - those Turkish guns are nice and lots of fun for the $$
