I've got a couple of knives I wish I didn't buy....I just dont use them enough...

A couple of medium & big Spydies se's, a couple of RJ Martin's, Bradley Allis 1s.

Does anyone else have knives they dont really use enough but can't get rid of them?

WAAAAAYYY too many! preach it brother...and the ones i want to trade away, no one wants either...i usually end up taking them to work and selling them to the guys that want to get into knives, but arent ready to drop some serious cash yet. My biggest problem is my friends arent into knives, and there arent many knife shops around where i live, so i have to buy a knife, without ever handling it...find out i dont like it/it doesnt "feel right" and try to sell or trade it away. ugh, the things i do for love of steel, sometimes i hate it...but usually i love it ;)

I've had a lot of interest in picking up an RJ Martin Q36, would you mind sharing your thoughts about the ones you wish you didn't buy? :)

The knives I mentioned in my post are(were) knives I had an interest in at

the time I bought them but my fouus(type of knives) has changed like a lot

of us. For me it's been an expensive change in type of knives I enjoy carrying

now....I think some of us are in the "same boat" :(:(

What do you enjoy carrying now clockman? I like my XM-18 the best, followed by either my Spyderco Military or my Benchmade 710. :D

I don't have many knives (according to me, according to my friends and family, well, we know what they use to say...) and I already have some knives that I wouldn't buy if I knew what I know now. But I'm not going to sell them or trade. The only way they can leave me is as gifts to people who deserve them.

Are you going to give them to people that you don't like? :D

CS X-Large Voyager tanto. Too big so it has sat in the sock drawer for 14 years or so.

Extrema Ratio Shrapnel. I like my other ERs (Venom, CM, Dobermann), but this one is pretty much useless with a worthless sheath too. But it's good enough to have it displayed although I don't tend to use it.

A Kizlyar Russian made folder...unbelievably stout built knife but, just way too much.

I bought a couple William Henry EDC knives, one to collect, one to use. Decided they were just to nice to use afterall, so on the shelf they remained until I got on this kick about not owning stuff I dont use. So I put both up for sale, but mu favorite of the two sold, so now Ive got the other, which is still too nice to use. So on the shelf it remains. Totally silly.

Now Im at a point where I regret selling knives, like my mini grip, sage 2, and my umnumzaan.

ZT 0551 It has killed my desire to purchase anything else currently out there until the0550 and flipper. I was put off on the brick pattern initially, but after actually seeing it, this knife has become an instant favorite, and I have or had most of the top productions blades out there.

BM 940 and Sage 2. Learning experiences, but ultimately a waste of about $60. I traded them off for slight losses.

Nothing wrong with the designs or anything, just in my personal experiences the 940 was my first disappointment with BM, and the Sage 2's ergos were terrible for me.

At least I was able to trade them off though! For a while I thought I'd have them forever.

Buyers remorse... unreal sadness overtakes me, sometimes the same day it arrives home. Ex: most recently, the ZT 0551. Then, the incorrigible knifeslut/hoarder in me surfaces... and it enters the lobster trap that is my collection - to never be sold or traded - just caressed in a creton-like way as I declare, "My precious!". It might get carried some - in an ancillary pocket - for show & tell/bragging rights - maybe one day to depose the BM 630 Skirmish or 755 MPR - or a Custom Buck 110 - even if briefly.

Of course, then there are gifts - my son gave me a Gerber LMFII years ago - yuck. My wife gave me a Benchmade 171 BladeSports Chopper... have to keep them... but, for what? I am blessed - and should be most thankful.

And - knives which are clearly too nice for me - "I am not worthy!" overtakes me - for a bit - then, that lobster trap of a collection won't let it go. Of course, little knives - even with sheaths & boxes - don't take up much room. It's my other hoarded collectibles that make navigating this house difficult.
