knives I'm contemplating for edc

so if any of you have seen my previous posts, my delica 4 has reached the end of its life. To reprofile the edge, and replace the gunk covered frn scales it would almost be the cost of a new delica. So I'm looking at the D2 steel will cut jack as a replacement as well as trying out a different brand. On the other hand, I was also looking at the lionsteel SR11 which has intrigued me..although I question the aluminum handles (and don't want to spend more for the titanium) as well as the glass breaker which always makes me think of a cheap tac force knife...

If anyone knows of a knife that compares with the sr11 that doesn't have the glass breaker and has g10 or similar scales, please let me know!

Can you share photos of your delica 4. I'd love to see the condition. Really thinking it wouldn't be that bad to fix it.

In any case what are you gonna do when your new knife gets dull?

I'd also be interested in seeing the Delica.

The sr11 and the cutjack are at opposite ends of the spectrum. There's no need to worry about the aluminum handles on the Lionsteel, but I'd probably still go with the cutjack. I love some of Lionsteel's other offerings, but in this comparison the cutjack is more my style AND much cheaper.

They make a g10 and m390 version of the cutjack if you want to go a little more upscale.

I'd also like to see a picture. What's wrong with it that requires replacement?

+ whatever for a pick,
I just checked out the cutjack & it looks good, might get one myself. If you like the Delica you could just get a new one.

Not home at the moment, and I can do a regular sharpening, but after lending it to a coworker who took it camping, it's just really bad. He tried to "help" me out and took it to a grinding wheel. I don't have the time to sharpen out the uneven and toothy edge and honestly I don't have the experience to sharpen that well. I put utility edges on my knives, and still haven't mastered a razor edge. I'll post pics when I'm home, but it's pretty dead haha

I've noticed you start seemingly at least one new EDC recommendation thread every week. Just a strange observation.
I'm glad that you have the ability to and time to read into these things, seriously take a bow. But in the last two threads I went out and got that knife. You're maybe the 30th person to bring it up.

I'm just getting tired of it, the edge is screwed, it's getting rust, and I'm on the verge of dedicating it to the work truck for coworkers to use for whatever so I want a personal replacement

If you're thinking ZT let me be the first to recommend the 0452cf. It's just as tough as any ZT, while being WAY lighter weight. Still has a 4 inch blade with great cutting geometry.

Or the 0450 or 0460 if you'd lik something abit smaller.

I don't know what your price range is, but another option for a smaller size knife is the hinderer half track. I recently purchased one and honestly its a great rugged edc knife. I was on the fence about it being worth the price, but once I carried it for a couple days it definitely is. I have larger sized hands and I can get great 4 finger grip on it. It really is a great knife.

I would like to take a look at it too. Sounds like it has a whole lot of character.

Pics or it didn't happen!

I have a Cutjack and it's a decent knife. For the money it can't really be beat and is one of the best budget blades IMO. It's just not as well known as the Rat 1, Tenacious, etc.

As far as Lionsteel, I don't have one, but have heard they are top notch. You're good to go with them. A glass breaker on a knife isn't a pro for me, but on a knife like the SR11 it's not a con either. It's just there.

If you had to choose between the lion steel sr11 and the ZT 801Ti which would it be?

Moral of this story, don't loan knives to anybody!
