I AM REALLY ANGRY.
please read this:
I am a totally normal guy. I have a car, a house, a cat. I do not have a gun. I should get a gun for my house. I should get an AUTOMATIC knife for my house. I need to defend myself.

this should loosely fit everyone with any sence of self preservation.

Why would the police take away knives from me? I am not going to hurt anyone. I use them as a tool. I probably wouldn't even defend myself with a knife. I'd be as passive as possible, run like hell. If I had a gun, I would be all over defending myself. (sorry for the terribly short sentences, I am completely enraged right now.)

my point, I'm sure most people agree with my incoherent thoughts, is that the people breaking the laws, stealing and murdering, are gonna break the gun laws anyway. why could they care less what new laws the government makes? why did the government make knife laws in the 1st place? (once again, if you're gonna attack someone with a knife, you're gonna be breaking laws anyway....)

if I am totally wrong tell me now. I'll go check into some mental institution and stay there 'til i don't want a gun or auto.

and the "you can have an auto if you have one arm"... what is that????? (I saw that on someone's compilation of all the knife laws.)

anyway, i think i'm feeling better now.

<hr>

Who can i write a letter to that would make them repeal all the knife laws? or who can i elect that will take care of at least something in the way i am going? OR how can i get more people to understand things as i do? (and I'm not alone, whether we're all insane has yet to be confirmed)

i hope this isn't going to offend anyone.

You're largely "preaching to the choir," I think -- but no harm done there. Did something happen to get you so worked up? If I had to guess I'd say you just had a knife confiscated.

Curious,

And tomorrow when you wake up it will be worse.

actually, it was when i woke up this morning. when i wake up, i get lots of fully adhered ideas.

i was venting mostly.

but we need some kind of advertisement that everyone will see. maybe a libertarian candidate will help us with the laws if we help him get elected... i don't know.

I agree with you Unocide. Here in Texas, if you get a Concealed Handgun License, it's only good for carrying a handgun. Automatic knives are still totally illegal to carry, even with this license. This is stupid beyond belief! To get this license, you have to go through a Criminal Background Check & submit your fingerprints, so they know you're not likely to be a criminal character. What's more dangerous, a 44 Magnum handgun or a Microtech Halo II? What we need is for Congress is to repeal that stupid switchblade law & then perhaps some of the states will follow suit & see how silly these laws are. Rant Mode Off

Worry not & VENT your ass off my friend! I agree 100% that MOST ALL the knife/handgun laws suck all around. I am lucky to reside in PA where it is a SHALL ISSUE state & CCW's abound. For the most part, I carry what I want & have had no problems. I've just gotta keep it legal when I go to either NJ or NYC. Then it's fb's & folders a hair under 4". Wanna hear something scary? In NJ, if someone breaks into your house your first response, by law must be an attempt to FLEE!!! That makes me sick! It's a TOTAL GESTAPO state! All I know is, that crap don't fly out here... *Very Nasty surprise of a shorty Model 12 being racked...*

I think we all know what the outcome SHOULD be and congress needs to do something BUT they won't listen to me. I can call every congressman and say "Can you please ..." explaining the situation and why the current standing is unexceptable. that won't get me sh*t. we have numbers, can we do anything with this massive number of people that are affected or sympathetic to our problem? I don't really want to just SAY "this sucks". I want to start doing something. WE NEED A PLAN!

Count me in if you come up with a plan of attack!! Maybe we should mass email all the senators and representatives. Maybe some of you computer whizzes could write a proggie that sent the emails out everyday. Make em think that millions of potential voters are with us. Ya never know!!! Take care!! Michael

One of the first things that we all can do is join AKTI.

Unfortunately as individuals we have a very limited voice but if we band together in an organization like the American Knife and Tool Institute we can have a more dramatic impact.

A mass emailing sounds good, but maybe we can organize some kind of petition? Let's all put our thinking caps on & see what we can come up with. It's a tough hurdle, but If we can get a politically affluent & truthful rep. with balls who shares our views, (YEAH RIGHT!) then we would be that much closer to opening the floodgates. Joe shmoe isn't going to cut it anymore ppl, we need NUMBERS & some known faces.

don't underestimate hte media. If we do mass-emails to the press. different newspapers and news organizations. if we keep it between us and the congressmen's secretaries, not enough people will know. maybe the media can help is spread the word.

Uno, a Good Cathartic Rant! I'm impressed. You should feel Much better now. I know I do.

No, I don't think you're insane. It's the collective Unconscious reality that controls Us all that Is Insane! Because Nobody listens to Anything any more. Or thinks much either. Especially congressmen.

A Good Revolution is what this country possible, but they're really hard to pull off anymore. Especially here is this great land. So do join the AKTI. Support honest knife weilding people seeking high office. They're the Crazy Ones. Not me

Oh, you should know that Everyone is in a mental institution already. Some call it reality. Mine has a big sign that says: Home for the Mentally Deranged or Merely Confused. But I Know it's everyone else that's crazy.

unocide,

I understand what you are saying and you are right! The assault on the freedoms of decent Americans who spend their lives minding their own business is immoral.

As to your last post regarding "the media": Be selective how you pick them. By and large, the national media are not our friends. The folks at the big networks are as anti-gun and anti-knife as they come. Basically they are anti-American, anti-family and anti-anything else that has been traditionally good and decent. On the local level, you can find newspaper, radio and TV folks who might enjoy the outdoors and the tools of the outdoors, but very few will go out on a limb for the cause of personal freedom in regard to guns and knives.

Some of the guys on the forums refer to "the sheeple" in most cases, unfortunately, they are right. Sheep don't stand their ground or make waves, they just follow along.

Thanks for tossing out a great topic that I too can vent about!!

TAutry makes some Great points about the media. They are Not our friends. Who do you think helped get us into this mess anyway? You should keep posting, keep talking, trying to convince everyone that they are Crazy. Because they Are.

The world will never be SAFE. And if it was, would you want to live in it? Could you? And avoid the media. Especially TV. Those towers broadcast Evil electromagnetic radiation encoding messages from somewhere Else; they mess with your mind eat brain cells like M & M's. Especially on Big Screen.

The internet is the answer. Keep talking and typing! You got my attention. I'm sure you could herd up a whole gaggle of sheeple. Be committed (not to my institution however, we're low on room) and resolute. It's a good fight. Good luck Uno. You have many brothers in your quest for the Libertarian Ideal. Now, where did Thomas Jefferson get away too? We could use his help about know.

'ya see, i don't want to tell the people that know this sh*t about this sh*t over and over... but there aren't very many other open forums that would not destroy all of my posts saying they were "off topic" or scary to them because they don't read the ideas, they see "knife" and that word scares them sh*tless....

I would joit the AKTI but i'd rather buy another knife than pay the dues for that. sorry i'm being so selfish, i have my priorities.

How about the retarded zero tolerance of weapons policies at schools? Oh my god, a fingernail clipper!!! Please don't chop my fingernails off!

I agree with all of you....but with high school students killing other high school students with guns....where is the priority for reforming knife laws...any politician to support such views would surely be labeled as eccentric......and the public would ask "Who cares?"......with all due respect....there are more pressing problems.....I think we should be thankful to maintain the status quo...."don't ask...don't tell"

The Highschool students killing eachother is BS! it's not about making laws to stop them from getting guns. we need to get the F**ked up kids out of the schools and into a place where THEY can't get the weapons but everyone else can. (Everone being people with no homicidal tendoncies.)

the congressmen would have the ability to justify themselves as having a reason to support our views if they could see how many people already think the status quo is ANNOYING as HELL. but they'd also have to get that out to the people, bypassing the media's spin. we need fireside chats!

i just noticed you're from arizona...

maybe gettin' the arizona laws to the rest of the states would help (i noticed they had no specific laws prohibiting knives there.)

Hey, I emailed my Representative yesterday, Joe Scarborough. He hasn't gotten back to me yet. I'll let ya know what he has to say. Seems like a good ole right winger. Maybe he has the gutts to stand up for us.
