Knives in movies

Watched "The Place Beyond the Pines" tonight. It starts out with Ryan Gosling flipping a balisong which drew me in. The next 2 hours 19 minutes, not so much. Not sure what kind of balisong, but it had darker wood inlays in the handles.

If you look carefully at the BluRay, the pizza knife is a Harsey/Reeve 5.5 - The Yarborough.

The DEADPOOL dagger looks to be a SOG Desert Dagger? Fuller, hand guard and pommel look the same. Just like the Brides knife in Kill Bill.

Spring Breakers...thanks rockspyder...the memories are coming back...

She's one of those starlets that had problems due to her fame (IMO; couldn't handle it and went off the rails). If it is the one I'm thinking of. I think she's largely dropped off the screens. Can't remember her name now, but would recognize it if I saw it.

Actually not the one that I was thinking about that went off the rails. I think the screen grab is of Vanessa Hudgens. All of 5'1" tall, according to her bio on imdb.com. So yeah, she's small. Quite small. Um.... yeah.

It drives my wife bonkers when I pause and rewind a movie to check the knives! "Just one more time baby- I NEED to know..!" :encouragement:

Resident Evil Retribution. On the ship Alice throws a knife that looks like a Regulator.

In stills from the movie, the rivet in middle of first finger groove is not present nor are the small serrations at bottom of blade as opposed to the Yarborough.

Ooowwh, that is good. Gonna check out that film soon.

I've watched deadpool, can't remember much, was drinking before, during and after believe or not , will have to look for a Busse next time.

If you google harsey Yarborough, you will see there are different iterations of that knife.(scales and serrations)

Look closer at the blade. There are no grooves in it like there are in the knife. That handle also seems to be slightly different. There's no nurled thumb stops.

The knife in the movie doesn't have the blood grooves in it like the actual knife. So I don't think that's the right one.

Hello Group,
I'm new here - this is a long shot but early in the movie there's a scene where the bad guy pulls a bullet out of his forehead, pulls out 2 knives and gets impaled by deadpool.
if any of you recognize these knives, I'd appreciate! they look to be all stainless with 10'' blades.

I'm not sure what they are and have been looking since I saw the movie but no luck. I thought a came close but just watched that scene again and they are different. I'm not sure who makes them or anything. I would love to find out though. If you do let me know.

First off i know this is a old thread but i was watching it last night and got curious. first knife i thought of was CR green beret. then after watching the movie and hearing his story line of being a former "special forces soldier" that lends to the green beret / yarbrough side of the house.
i didn't notice the lashing hole found on the gemini when it was stopped in the upward pointed position shortly after pulling it out.

but thats just my .02 lol

I know this is an older thread but I just spotted these in Jack Reacher. This has to be a record for number of Busse/Kin in a single scene. I can't believe I hadn't seen this mentioned before. Not only one of my favorite knife brands, but in a counter with Robert Duvall, one of my favorite actors standing over them. Oh yeah, there was some other guy in the scene also.

Dude, nicely done!
I've seen that movie more than once and never noticed it. Here's the scene, the Hog hardware shows up about 5:46; it's 1080p so you can go full screen on your monitor...
