As much as I hate to say this, I just picked up two folders made in China for $68.00 shipped and they compare very well with my knives costing 2 to 3 times more made here!Titanium handles, D2 blade. I have custom knives and knives from here on the USA for over 3 times the cost and this China made competes in terms of quality and worksmanship! I am not a knife expert but been in knives long enough to know quality knives. These knives are really eye openers in my opinion !

Someone started a thread just like this one, called "Those Chinese knives" just yesterday.

There is at least one thread along these lines on the front page currently, and generally at least one active one at any given time.

These threads rarely go well, for many reasons.

This should probably be merged with one of the running threads so all the xenophobia and vitriol can be consolidated into one awful thread, where people say:
- Chinese knives are fine
- Chinese knives are terrible
- I don't see a problem with buying from China
- I will never buy anything from China
- I only buy US-made
- Buying Chinese from US dealers supports US companies
- US-Made knives are made with Chinese parts and/or equipment
- I had this one experience with a Chinese knife and have based my entire opinion on it
- Something vaguely racist
- Something laughably Jingoistic
- A post about how there are a million threads like this

Yeah and Comeuppance, that one you started was probably as civil as it gets when it comes to the subject, and it still got shut down. I think now days it would be hard for anyone to deny the quality that China is capable of putting out now days. The debate about chinese knives now i would think is more of a political/ethical and very opinionated subject that has to do with more then just knives.
