I was wondering if anyone has knives
Made of S5 tool steel a few years I
Was looking into S5 for a fixed blade
that was going to be made by Scott
Gossman into one of his tusker models
I tracked down a supplier and got a bar
But when Scott tried to heat treat it,it
would not take so he ended up sending
It back and if memory serves me right
They told Scott it wasn't S5 but something
Else and he ended up making me a one off
S7 Polaris with a 5 inch so while using my
Polaris this weekendI got to thinking about
S5 steel and how it would compare to S7 and
Other steels ! Scott told me S5 had the same
Toughness as S7 but way better edge retention
Among other things so can anyone share their
Experiences with S5 steel along with pictures?
